mafia-client's Issues

Style chat client

  • Randomly generated colors for names (per user)

  • ...[User] is typing... (like iMessage or fb messenger)

players not joining rooms

for some reason, sometimes a player never joins the room

  • client fails to send 'room' message after authentication?? look into how chaining these work

Lobby View

The lobby view is a holding room. Once enough players have joined the lobby, the game will begin. The owner of the lobby (the "creator" in the game model) is allowed to press a "Begin Game" button when enough players have joined.

Assign Roles View

This is a quick view that appears for ten seconds or so before navigating to the holding room view. It simply displays to the player what their current role is, so that they can be informed going into the game.

Generate Roles should sync

creator of the game should be the only one who can click "Play Game"
when creator click the button, all players' screen should move on to the next stage

Persistance of Chat Rooms

Users need to be able to leave and re-enter the chat room. Chat rooms also need to persist on reload of browser.

User Data Page

Create a page that shows all the users registered so far
Print at frontend

Selection Stage

Depending on your role, this stage can have a few different looks:

  • If you're the mafia, you have to pick someone to eliminate
  • If you're the doctor, you pick someone to save
  • Police, you pick someone to investigate, i.e. see if they are mafia or not
  • Villager, you just wait for everyone else to choose

Facebook auth takes two attempts

The first time, it successfully signs in (and says so in the console), but it takes a second connection to show the log out button and a link to start the game

add chat history

It would be cool to have chat history in a lobby like the chat history in the slack channel. New joiners will be thankful of that.

Narration stage

The repeated narration stage in each round:
-narration
-reveal who is alive and dead(opacity)
