btrfs-usage's Issues

Account for degenerate RAID0

With 5.15, btrfs introduced degenerate RAID0/RAID10 which allows RAID0 to span a single disk (stripe width = 1).

Previously unusable space now gets allocated in degenerate RAID0 mode, allowing striped modes to fully utilise the space their non-striped counterpart could.

Add percentages to totals

It might be interesting to add percentages of total raw space to the totals at the end, indicating storage efficiency. Similar to how you'd expect 50% with 2-disk RAID1 and 66% with RAID5 on 3 disks, users might be interested in knowing what their weird 11-disk btrfs 3-parity raidz3 frankenstein would do.

i think bug using 2Tb and a 6TB drive stripped

not sure if its a bug but kinda seems it
first i have a 1TB and 2TB drive i was looking at stripping but i guess you loose 1TB data
as it 2TB usable and 1 TB unusable

but if i was to mix a 2TB and a 6TB and stripe that data to get 8TB
it says i have 4TB thats useable and 4TB that unusable

does that mean id have 0TB useable ?
as i thought id get 8TB useable

or is it
2TB (2TB drive) + 2TB (6TB drive) = 4 usuable and 4TB left on the 6TB is unusable

is that how that works? if so then not a bug but maybe a better break down when showing useable/unusable as it took me a bit to figure it out

if if you could add color on the bars to show like blue section of the bar is unusable and green part of the bar is useable

Support decimal output

Because it's faster, I thought I would use terabytes as input for the disk sizes, but in some situations that doesn't work correctly:

The total usable space should be 18.5 TB here, with no unused space.

Kernel 5.15 or later mode

<multicore> adip: the calc is b0rked <darkling> multicore: It is? <multicore> darkling: yup, example raid10 acts if "kernel 5.15 or later" is selected even if it's not: https://carfax.org.uk/btrfs-usage/?c=2&slo=1&shi=100&p=0&dg=1&d=1000&d=1000&d=4000&d=4000 <multicore> darkling: also happens if values are entered manually not only from the url <darkling> Hmm. OK, that link looks like it's not picking up the 5.15 flag from the URI. <darkling> Can you put in a bug report with that link? Otherwise, I'll just forget about it.

mkfs.btrfs command generator

It would be very convenient to generate a command to create a file system based on the settings of the calculator.
For example, mkfs.btrfs --d raid10 -m raid10 <devices>

Better support for mobile devices

Hi!

It would be nice if the layout could be made a little more responsive.

Mainly I think it is the length of the usage bars that should be using percentages instead of fixed pixel widths.

https://carfax.org.uk/btrfs-usage/index.html

I did some testing in the browser dev-tools with percentages. I set the bigest device to 100% and then the others as relative size. This makes work much nicer on mobile phones. :)
