I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, the idea is a turing machine which emits beeps whenever it processes a given symbol: and using that as a way to automatically generate (simple? random? self-organising?) music
Actually make it a turing machine, instead of some kind of paper-based state machine thing.
More complex rules for state changes and reversing order should give better sound.
Perhaps the sound generation should be done in a different thread so that the gaps between beeps when the next sound is being calculated are not so disruptive.
Rather than having beeps, work towards something closer to wind chimes.
These sounds can be generated at the start and then copied to the sourcedataline as needed.
