Ending Multiplayer Games

Doesn't really do anything for anyone.

  • If you lose it should give you the "lose" screen and disconnect you as someone to send things to.
  • If everyone lost you should "win"

FPS

Take it off before submitting.

Multiplayer Breaks after a Turn

Multiplayer works great for one turn! Hooray!

However after that it doesn't send back enough ENDs or something because it never releases the mouse after you send your second turn. This seems to happen both with people and AI.

Last Minute Fixes

  • delay startgame (can't click so fast: fucks up otherwise)

Game is like... really unintuitive

Seriously.

I was playing it with someone unfamiliar with the code and was realizing just how much is unintuitive. For instance:

  1. The green box to denote "readiness".
  2. Changing your nick with /nick
  3. The fact that you can't paste your IP, even though you can copy it (this I can fix actually)
  4. ALL OF GAMEPLAY
    • Like seriously placing units only makes sense if you click on a unit, the shift+click is never explained
    • The fact that you can click your defensive units to make them do things is kinda unintuitive
    • That we have a shop at all is not readily apparent.
  5. There's no indication once you have sent your moves that you're waiting on your opponents.

Action Bar Offscreen

The action bar is printed offscreen if you click on a defensive unit near the bottom of the screen please fix this :(

Upgrades

we need to make some and make them do things
i still think we should drop down to one tree per sub

We Aren't using the Issues Page

What We're Doing

Currently we're keeping all our bugs in todo.txt, along with large descriptions of what has to be done.

Why this is Dumb

github has a system in place for documenting bugs, which is superior to our text file in a number of ways:

  1. github's system has nice markup
  2. github's system does not require a separate commit, meaning we can add issues as they pop up
    Because of this we will also be more likely to actually update
  3. With github's system, we can delegate the issues to people, to give them a heads up that it's their responsibility
  4. We can tick off the bugs as they are finished instead of just deleting them from the file

In Conclusion

Please use this system from now on.

we still need to write our AI player

all our settings (except multiplayer name) apply to things we dont yet have and might not have at all (or at least not enough to have settings for em...)
be sure we fix this before submitting
