Hi Daniele
Thanks for your quick reply. I did some more testing and realised that the
bug only applies to pasting text from PDF files. Pasting from websites
works fine (I may have copied text from a PDF viewed on a website). I've
changed the relevant text in my bug report.
I think Beaver is a fantastic project and I hope it will develop.
Especially the combination with an Android app and Desktop is what I'm
really excited about.
For the time being I will probably only be able to help by posting the
occasional comment and/or bug report. My coding skills are not up to
scratch to help on that front (however, I would love to!)

Thanks for the additional details, and I'm glad to hear you enjoy Beaver. I've improved how Beaver handles pasting, so text should no longer collapse into a single line when editing. However, I've also noticed that certain apps, especially PDF viewers, do not retain formatting when copying text. For example, text copied from Preview on macOS appears to the app as a single paragraph and collapses, whereas text copied from Firefox is handled correctly.
To test this, you can clone the development branch and then follow the documentation available here. You might want to back up your notes before making any changes. If the issue persists, please don't hesitate to inform me. Additionally, you can try copying text from the same PDF using different apps, as some may not provide enough data for proper formatting.
Feel free to reach out with any ongoing issues or questions. I greatly appreciated your willingness to help develop Beaver!

Hi Daniele
I have branched the project and set up the dev environment on my Linux PC.
I can build and run BN fine. I would assume I'm on the latest build but the
PDF paste problem is still present.
I use Evince PDF viewer.
