atom-gitkraken's Introduction

badge badge badge

Open the current Atom project in GitKraken.

This can be activated from the Packages menu, command palette, from the context menu on the root project folder in tree view, or the git branch indicator in the status bar. A modifier key can also be set to work here on click.

An instance of GitKraken will be spawned for each project by default, but can be configured in the package settings to only ever run a single instance of the application.

Install

apm install gitkraken or search “kraken” under packages within Atom.

atom-gitkraken's Issues

GitKraken not unleashed if it is not installed in /Applications

The Problem

I am in a company setup and install software under /Users/myname/Applications. It looks like this plugin is set up to only look in /Applications. Therefore using any of the available commands to launch GitKraken from Atom has no result.

The Solution

A more appropriate way would be to use the open command.

open -a GitKraken

This will open the appropriate application no matter where it is installed or what the actually app container name.

Reference

See OSXDaily: How to launch GUI Applications from the Terminal or man open.

Integrate more tightly with UI

Why not make gitkraken launch in a windowed or full mode (maybe with context menu) when clicking or hovering the branch info here:
image

'gitkraken.get' could not set the default.

I'm getting this in my console after startup of atom:

'gitkraken.get' could not set the default. Attempted default: undefined; Schema: undefined

module.exports.Config.setDefaults @ <embedded>:22374

shift-clicking on the branch name in the bar at the bottom does nothing.
