These are lectures that have been modified for Summer 2015 version of the Temporary Structures class at the College of Construction Management of the University of Florida.
The tables in the excavation lecture do not display italics in the slide show. The italics are correctly displayed in the notebook so there must be an interaction with reveal and italic html.
Based on the current version of the bracing lecture, the majority of the students failed to account for the number of braces in the required nails calculations.
There needs to be a discussion on the various options for rigging cranes, what types of cranes there are, and a review of the concept of a crane chart. This should not overlap too must with the final project.
I fixed the Greetings presentation manually for summer in the Summer branch. However the Fall and Spring version is still experiencing the problem with excessive fragments showing up in the slide show. I could fix it manually using the exact same approach but I am waiting to see if the fix will be in version 4 of IPython nbconvert.
That being said it is imperative that this gets fixed prior to the start of Fall 2015.
There needs to be a short lecture (even as short as 1 or two slides) discussing the various types of common concrete form work. Also add an explanation about why we are studying the hardest type of form work to build (a. most versatile b. if you can do this than you can do everything else).
