I have been going through all of the unit website information that I wrote down when doing the audit of the unit sites a while back and trying to come up with a universal architecture that we can use for the main links on each unit site. This is what I have come up with because most units actually have the same kind of content.

I think the best way to look at this is to come up with top-level definitions and then help each unit fit their content into these categories on a unit-by-unit basis. We can give them this information with the samples of what will go under each link, have the stakeholders take this back to their units and come up with their own structure of links under these that we could review and make sure fit our definition where they are put.

I would like to keep all of the units with the same structure when it comes to these links so that this is the maximum of what they can have, but if they don't want to use a link, we could omit it from the lineup.

Please let me know any thoughts here @manolobevia @mhk33

PSL Minor Style Adjustments

Looking at the PSL dev site on my local machine, there a few things that I would like to adjust so I'm going to make a list of them here.

Nav menu (middle of page)

  • Styling with the right border
  • All items with sub-menus should have arrow
  • Sub-sub-menus are being outlined and should not be/should be indented

Footer

  • Add a bit more space between nav menu and text below it

Content Area

  • Define colors for buttons to match more with theme colors

VET - add form for after-hours access for Cornell students, faculty and staff

This page links to a form on the old Vet library website:
https://vet.library.cornell.edu/after-hours-access/

Here's the form:
https://www2.vet.cornell.edu/about-us/flower-sprecher-veterinary-library/about-us-and-hours/veterinary-library-access-authorization-form-cornell-students-faculty-and-staff

From Erin:

For the Vet Library Authorization form page, we will need a new one with a form that sends a message. All of the fields except for Title and Class of should be required. Can you help us create that? These requests go to Chris Dunham, who manages access.

Unit Page View Analytics

These are the page view analytics for all of the unit websites that I could find on Matomo and the main CUL site on Google Analytics. I took screenshots just for a quick overview of each of these. Not all of the units have analytics pages that I could find, so these are just the ones in the list. These cover the past 12 month timeframe.

Unit Download Analytics

These are the download analytics of all the same sites from the page view analytics. If some of the sites don't have an analytics page then it is not included. These cover the past 12 month timeframe.

ULS UNITS VET - Accessibility assessment

FROM CIT:
One of my designers completed the accessibility assessment for the Vet Library site. He said that overall it was pretty good. However, there was some concern over keyboard and screen reader accessibility.
Additional notes/comment are available here:

VET accessibility - Keyboard users should be able to open dropdown menus

This was open in JIRA. Not sure if it was fixed, but wanted to document it here.

When using keyboard-only navigation, you can open the link to a parent section within the main nav dropdown menus, but you can't open the dropdown menu itself to select links, as mouse users can. Ideally we make the dropdown menu accessible via keyboard.

Assessment & Communication site

The Assessment & Communication site is another one that I think could be folded into the main site.

This hasn't been brought to Zsuzsa or Gaby yet and is something I think we should discuss amongst ourselves and with them to see if this something that can/should be done.

Roadmap & Development Plan

Roadmap of our plan for what we are doing to share with stakeholders. This would be a good place to create a timeline for when various sites will be worked on and the process that we will go through to keep it transparent.

  • Requested at Stakeholders Discussion meeting 10/16/18

Content Creation Documentation

We need to create documentation for staff on uploading content and various specifics with content types that we should be aware of when creating content.

PSL Timeline

I have made a first pass at a timeline for the PSL site so that we can keep on track. Take a look at it and let me know if you think this is good, if there's anything that I'm missing or if there are any other specifics that we should add in.

I did use some color to indicate who does what, red being us, blue is stakeholders, purple is both.
