Description

Minecraft has always been lacking something important: vertical slabs.
Because of this most mods adding new slabs do not include vertical slabs and you'd have to download addon mods to add them, in the rare case they even exist.
This mod aims to fix all of the above, adding vertical slabs dynamically for Vanilla and each mod installed!

Important note:
All and only blocks that already have slab variants will also get vertical slab variants, this to keep a Vanilla-like game style that nicely adapts to any eventual mod.
If you want more vertical slabs it's sufficient to add more slabs. Then, automatically, vertical slabs will be added to the game.

Craftings

  • 3 of the same block in a column to craft a vertical slab.
    Full to vertical
  • 2 of the same vertical slab in a row to craft a full block.
    Vertical to full
  • 2 of the same slab in a column to craft a full block.
    Horizontal to full
  • Vertical slabs can be crafted into slabs and vice versa just by putting them alone in the crafting.

  • Waxing works as usual, both in-world and in-crafting.

  • Stonecutter recipes are available.

    It must be noted that, due to some implementation restrictions, a block can be stonecut only in its main vertical slab. To obtain the other vertical slab variants of that block the crafting recipes above must be used.

For developers

For slab items to be recognized as slabs they must have the minecraft:slabs tag, as they should. If they don't, there's no way to understand whether they are slabs or not, so they are assumed to be not.
If another mod adds slabs that are not recognized by this mod, it's most probably for this reason, so check it and ask the other mod author to fix that.

Game Crashed While Using Creative Tab

Vertical Slabs not showing up in JEI or Creative menu

Vertical slabs disappearing from both the creative menu and JEI on Creative Server

  2. Check creative tab and JEI for slabs
  3. Find none

Restarting the server usually causes them to show up again, but I'd still like to report it regardless, seeing as it is a bug

Bug (slabs request more than one crafting input)

Describe the bug
when requesting items using pretty pipes, errors or through frequently and sometimes the game completely crashes. I have reported the error to the pretty pipes GitHub but they said the problem in from a mod with the is justverticalslabs. More information such as the log is on their issue.

Justverticalslabs items are displayed in JEI's recipe search
i can't see the recipe

Expected behavior
Pressing R in JEI will bring up a recipe for making a VerticalSlab.

Later, I think it's a bug related to this
Cannot be automatically created by ThermalSeries SequentialFabricator,
It seems that ImmersiveEngineering's Assembler can be created.

[Request] Make full block from vertical slab

Hi, first of all, this mod is incredibly awesome.
As the title says, I cannot seem to be able to make a full block from vertical slabs just like you can do it with normal slabs, can you pls add this feature? also, recipe support for JEI would be excelent.
This mod definitely goes to my modpack.

Fix Honey Vertical Slab property (change how speedFactor and jumpFactor are retrieved in Forge)

When a player walks or jumps on a Honey Block, its speed/jump are decreased.
This is achieved by setting statically speedFactor and jumpFactor at block creation.
Since Vertical Slabs need properties to be set dynamically, but Forge does not yet allow such thing for speedFactor and jumpFactor (unlike friction, for instance), a PR should be made on Forge to add these hooks.
This should fix not only honey block, but any block changing entities speedFactor and jumFactor.

Mod not functioning

I cant seem to get the mod to work, at first i thought it was a mod conflict maybe with another slab mod like klee or even quark's vertical slab feature but after creating a new instance with only JEI, controlling and justverticalslabs i still dont see any generated vertical slabs, nor do i see the mod's creative tab. was there some initial setup i was supposed to do?

[Bug] Crash w/ Pokecube AIO

Improve readme and Curseforge page

Readme and Curseforge page description have to change to be more clear and appealing.
Furthermore a new image (gif showing several vertical slabs?) should be made and set.

Rename vertical slabs

Hi. I'm in love with this mod! To make it easier to differentiate from slabs and vertical slabs, could vertical slabs be named 'Vertical Slabs' as opposed to solely 'Slabs'?

Copper shingles from Create do not get recognized

Vertical Slabs for Create's Copper Shingle Slabs do not generate

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install Just Vertical Slabs
  2. Install Create
  3. Open inventory
  4. Type Copper Shingle Slab

Vertical Copper Shingle Slabs should have been generated.

System information:

  • Create, Malum, Twigs, Architect's Palette (all of these mods have vertical slabs except for the copper shingles one from Create)

Incompatibility with Optifine

Mod encounters texture corruption with optifine installed. Minecraft will launch without error yet (nearly) all textures for the included vertical slabs will be corrupted beyond recognition. Slabs that are not corrupted are oak vertical slabs.

Bug

Describe the bug
changing video settings sometimes results in a crash where half the time my UI bugs out too.

To Reproducenot sure how to reproduce tbh. I wish I could help you with that.

Expected behavior
no crash just by having the world open and changing settings?
