XHR does not work when serving local files, due to security restrictions. Typically we use a local server to do development.

"XHR does not work when serving local files" this is not entirely accurate.
Most browser have the ability to enable this. With Chrome eg. "--allow-file-access-from-files"
It works for most things apart from JSON or scripts that are evaluated.
The files loads:
XHR finished loading: "file://path/to/config.json". preloadjs-NEXT.min.js:12
However queue.getResult(id) returns undefined.
