So I'm clear on this: you want to be able to select any category, select the number of items to show and display title, link, description, version , files size. How to sort the items (if you are only selecting a certain quantity). Do you want the link to go to the item display or directly download?

Sorry for not enough description: sorting by the date of item was added and link for direct download would be the best. Everything else exactly as you wrote. Thank you.

I have pushed the new block to the repository for your testing.

I have also converted the module to Doctrine 2 and added some improvements in caching from another dev.

Please test and let me know if you find problems.

Specifically, if you can test the upgrade from the very old data (v2.4), that would be very helpful.

tested it and everything seems to be ok so far. About this: "and there should be also a possibility to show all the relevant properties (title, link, description, version, file size" you will add later, right?

BTW, does your module use Zikula's categories or some kind of it's own categories system, please? I somehow couldn't set Zikula categories for it (I know it wasn't part of our deal, I'm just asking).

the additional properties are there and available in a template. (check the blocks/list.tpl template) maybe that's not what you had in mind? If not, then please be more specific.

The Downloads module uses its own categories implementation. You can add categories from the admin page for Downloads.

As I understand you want me to test upgrade from the older version of downloads? I can help, but I didn't test it yet - this is the first time I use downloads module for my project, so I don't have such possibility now. Is there a possibility to download such old version od module somewhere?

please test again and make sure everything is still to your satisfaction. you may need to clean out ztemp/doctrinemodels first. Anything needed in there will be recreated. If all is well, we can release the module.
