I've been trying to write something similar to your script which will iterate over a maildir and do the same thing. However the only scripts I've found are in Python and Perl, neither of which I'm strong in, so my progress is slow. Very slow.

I'm thinking I might now try this again, using your code as a template: the email parsing will be the same, but the only thing that is different is how it picks up the emails. My current approach (such as it has been) was to write the parser in Python, but I've been using a bash script to select the emails from the maildir based on Date, size etc, and then just throw them at the dumb python script which will just blindly parse them. Of course it would be much neater if it could all be done in Python. Well lets see how it goes.

Anyway, just some thoughts in case you were interested, and in case you say 'pah, easy, a five minute job' and knock out some code. For now, thanks for the inspiration to give it another go. :-)
