I'm using it on openSUSE and the titles of inactive tabs are black on dark background so really hard to read.

Also in the Message editing dialog the menu items are also black font on dark background so very hard to read.

My biggest problem is with the huge padding around the message list rows. It makes the list less efficient and only shows about a dozen messages on my screen instead of 20+. Is that somehow configurable?

I confirm the problem with black text on dark background on Thunderbird 52 on linux, a fix is on the way.

Could you specify which parts have a font too big? For me they seems "normal": I tried a 10/11px font size, but it's really really small (now the font is 12px). If you are speaking about the text "This is a message", this font size can be changed in the Thunderbird display settings.

Yes, the padding is configurable but not directly. You should edit a file and delete one row, it's pretty straightforward, I could explain that to you, but you'll need to edit the file at every theme update

Actually nevermind about the fonts. I confused this with the padding issue. I'll remove this from the original comment.

The fix is now pushed on the repo, thanks for noticed that bug! I'm pushing this also in the add-on.

However, for eliminate the padding you should:

  1. Go to /home/[your linux user]/.thunderbird/[(literally) random letters and numbers].default/extensions
  2. Open the file "[email protected]" with a zip/rar tool (I'm using Ark)
  3. Go to chrome/MonterailOverlay/css/
  4. Open the file "root.css" with a file editor (or move the file in the desktop and move it again on the archive after 5.)
  5. Go to row 29 and edit "--message-list-row-height" with the padding that you want
  6. Save and restart thunderbird

If you have any other problems, you know where find me :P

Ok the property that you mentioned changes the row height of the folder view on the side, what I am looking for is the messages list in the main window. What property is that?

Are you sure about that?
"--message-list-row-height" is the right variable, I think that you are changing the row below (--folder-tree-row-height), that is the wrong one

Edit: the previous answer was edited
