Description πŸ“°

CollabCity is a platform to connect those who have with those who need. It is an Open-source project maintained by the people for the people. CollabCity connects people and organizations who need skills, talent or resources with those who can provide them for free, by trade or a fee. Share your skills, upcycle your gently used items or pitch in to help someone out! With CollabCity, you can post requests for skills, resources or volunteer hours to those in your community.

Currently, the scope of this project is being determined by contributors. Right now, we're imagining a system where you can log in and post a request for help, items or skills or search for those whom you might be able to help. Searching could be restricted to a city name or region or potentially even a radius around your location. Join the CollabCity project to help us shape what it will become! Spread the word!

Getting Started πŸ—οΈ

This is a Next.js project bootstrapped with create-next-app.

To contribute, please review the CONTRIBUTING.md and review the issues list for issues you can help with.

When you're ready to contribue, fork and clone this repo. From there, you'll need to run the development server:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.tsx. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

API routes can be accessed on http://localhost:3000/api/hello. This endpoint can be edited in pages/api/hello.ts.

The pages/api directory is mapped to /api/*. Files in this directory are treated as API routes instead of React pages.

Available Color Palettes could be found in Color Palette

collabcity's Issues

Create a page for users to register themselves

You define the scope! The intention is to build a site to help people maintained by the people!

The initial idea is to implement the layout, not the integration with the backend yet.
You define the fields!

I see a site were users are able to register what they need, or what they have that others may need!
A user can be a person or a company.

Feel free to improve as you want!

Create a definition for the activities to be done!

Create a prototype for the site

We need a prototype for the site. Don't need to be the prototype of all the site.
The prototype should include at least one of:

We have ideas, a logo, and a base project.

In this page the user should be able to choose if he needs something, or if he has something to offer that somebody may want.
In the sequence the user should be able to describe the need/offerring and the quantity available.

Define color palette based on logo and ideas

We must define a color palette to start developing the prototype!

Need to create a new landing page

A landing page explaining the idea of the site. Explaining that you can ask for help, or that you are able help somebody.
I'm open to any suggestion!

Some content like:

CollabCity - Collaborate with your City

Need any help or want to help your community?
Say what you need or what you are willing to donate!

Create a readme for the project

You define the scope! The intention is to build a site to help people maintained by the people!
The readme should introduce users to what the site really is, a place to help others built by the people, and call other for help!

I see a site were users are able to register what they need, or what they have that others may need!
