A script to automatically change the refresh rate of the current display to match the playing video
License: MIT License
nvm
The current script pauses the video even if the screen refresh rate wasn't changed, which is a waste of time and annoying, it makes every video in a playlist pause for 3 seconds regardless of screen refresh rate changes.
I want it to pause the video only if it did change the refresh rate.
Logs:
mpv.log
As the title says: display FPS (specified) stays at 60fps after switching refresh rate. This messes a bit with playback when display FPS (estimated) deviates a bit from the target. This means that whenever I move the mouse, or display the OSD, the playbach becomes very choppy, probably because mpv somehow tries to resync between 60fps and 24fps (I'm using display-resample).
This isn't that big of a deal, because once I video-sync settles, playback is perfectly smooth. However it would be nice if there was a way to fix it.
Currently if you have the rates of 48 and 60, the screen will be set to 48 for videos that are 30 or 15 fps, that should really stay at 60 in those cases.
Would it be possible to detect monitor when executing script ?
I'd like the script not to go further (don't change refresh rate) depending on monitor. If I'm on my main monitor, I'd prefer not to change refresh rate. But when I launch mpv on my TV (in single monitor mode) I want this script to do its magic.
Active monitor can be found in regedit I think (from what I see in MultiMonitorTool from Nirsoft too).
Mplug is like a package manager but for mpv scripts.
Please add your script there (if already not there) and also installation instructions in manifest - https://github.com/Nudin/mpv-script-directory/blob/master/HOWTO_ADD_INSTALL_INSTRUCTIONS.md
All other features of the plugin work great for me, no problems. Except for the rebinding of keys.
I have tried changing the keybindings to revert-refresh, by editing input.conf.
this is my full input.conf:
i match-refresh
Ctrl+i revert-refresh
but it is not responding to my keybindings, however the default f10 and ctrl+f10 are still working with said input.conf set to i and ctrl+i.
if i add for example "i cycle fullscreen" that works just fine, so the input.conf is being applied. can you try if it actually works for you, and help me find the cause?
