codingblocks.online's Issues

Disabling Service Workers

Service Workers are doing a lot of issues while working and testing the application.
It is better to make a seperate branch codingblocks.online PWA and push the PWA version there, removing service workers from this branch.

Removing Courses Page from View for now

Currently, the courses page and the home page are of equal relevance to user as we are not having much courses, for first version, we can "hide" the courses page button.

For UX point of view, we can disable it, to show the user, that something is coming soon.
@championswimmer Need your views regarding this.

Switch from HLS to MPEG DASH

The supported HLS preset for AWS transcoder can't do better than 2 megabits. To support better video quality, we need to use MPEG DASH. Discuss here.

check server-side login status when booting

so I am setting up a .codingblocks.com cookie, which should be available to online.codingblocks.com while doing AJAX.

When booting, make a get request to
https://account.codingblocks.com/api/users/me
if you get a response with User object back, then automatically redirect user to login via oneauth (what happens now when user actually clicks login button)

If you do not get a user object in response, then logout ember-simple-auth, as the app shouldn't be logged in, because user has logged out of oneauth.

NOTE : In jQuery we need to run this

$.ajaxSetup({
  xhrFields: {
    withCredentials: true
  }
});

before making the AJAX otherwise the AJAX calls do not pick up cookies. Make corresponding changes as required for Ember.
