codelab's Issues

Cannot read property of 'body' of null.

Error is happening here: https://github.com/AngularNYC/angular-presentation/blob/e8e6309ab8e336d3a88a35d65acfb0bc97fcc5cf/src/app/exercise/runner/runner.component.ts#L88

Seems to only happen in overview mode.

Menu shortcut is causing a full page reload

In angular-presentation/src/app/presentation/menu-shortcut/menu-shortcut.component.html

<p><a [href]="route.path + '/0'">{{route.name}}</a></p>

This causes a full page reload rather than a route change.

Content

This issue addresses migrating content from Google Slides to HTML slides
link to the slides

Most of the slides:

  • file names under code (for ex. slides 20-22)
  • text is white or gray
  • highlight code and put a box around it
  • have fixed (always in the same place) current section (gray) & title (white)

slide 1-2:

  • background image - scale&position
    No background for now

Slides 3-75:

  • gray background

Slide 4:

  • grid boxes of different color

Slide 5:

  • TS graph

Slides 5, 74:

  • Notes on the bottom

Slides 7, 9:

  • huge titles
  • highlighted words

Slide 11:

  • custom code highlight (red)

Slides 10-15:

  • yellow tooltips on the code
  • very large code

'Content' slides (i.e. 8 or 19) (Can be generated?):

  • Highlight current section with yellow & bigger font

Slides 20, 21, 32:

  • arrows pointing to code

Slides 45, 47, 64:

  • position multiple boxes of code

Slides 46, 50, 52:

  • Mixed code boxes & arrows & colored boxes

Slide 67, 68:

  • display output

Slide 58, 59, 60, 62, 63:

  • add image
  • add colored filter on image

Slides 3, 36, 60:

  • highlighted words in different colors (i.e. slide 3)

Slides 17, 18, 23, 33, 41, 48, 54, 65:

  • Directions title in gray and bigger font

For the first run create a BETA indicator

It has to mention that the codelab is in early stages and can be broken and also encourage to send feedback.
Must be very beautiful, and the feedback button must BLINK!!! (or at least get highlighted) (Optionally add a gif)

Make repository more open source friendly

  • Lock master branch to everyone (All new master branch code must come through PR)
  • Require tests to pass before PR merge to master (related #34)
  • Add CONTRIBUTING.md
  • Create a quick start presentation (#31)
  • Add .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE.md
  • Add .github/SAVED_REPLIES.md (Optional)

ergkpjcj6pf

These changes will enable contributors to work together without creating many conflicts, among other things.

Feedback module

  • Add feedback form
  • See if firebase functions can be used to create gh-issue

Remove or warn against "any" in tutorials

I could see there being an argument for easing the transition, but I believe that any should be warned against for people learning TS. It might encourage bad habits with typing.
