As we spoke about, I got a lot of feedback that the spacing was confusing...

Not sure where to put this in the design, any ideas?

Can we add a CfA brand Favicon to the site? It's showing up as a blank placeholder and feels off brand.

One suggestion we got was to make an actual timeline. or we could work it into the "how it works" section. or...?

Do you have an idea for an image to use?

I got feedback that the rollover buttons look a bit like text fields.

Since there's a lot of text one thing one of the interviewees mentioned was to put an image of the Summit, especially that allows the prospective applicants to see the scale of the Summit. :)

Just an idea!

make menu item for selection criteria (we could consider calling this “who will win” what do you think?) (Also if this doesn't fit with the design, feel free to ignore this one...)

or another strategy to make the design more clear...

Add something to the effect of:

We encourage entries in (but not limited to):
Health, Safety and Justice, Economic Development, and (look up name of DFD focus area)

Would love to connect about where this fits in the flow — happy to add it myself (assign it back to me?) but adding it here for you to think on it from the design perspective...
