Flicks
Flicks is an SPA which uses the MovieDB API to create a web app for discovering and searching for movies. Users can see currently playing movies, upcoming movies, best of 2018 in various categories and search for any movie. Results provide information such as movie plot, posters, cast, release year, revenue. Materialize framework is used for the front end and responsiveness.
Getting Started
Clone or download the repository to your local machine and open index.html with the browser of your choice, you will also need your own api key which you can get at the MovieDB website.

An API key from themoviedb
An internet connection
Materialize CSS/JS installed or linked to with a CDN
Installing
Web Browser
Install a modern uptodate Web browser like Google Chrome
Get API key
Go to MovieDB and signup for an api key
Materialize Framework
Go to https://materializecss.com/ and follow instructions for installing materializecss
Axios - Promise based HTTP client for the browser
Go to https://github.com/axios/axios for installation instructions
Familiarity with Html, Css and javascript required
Testing
This app was tested with various different screen sizes and devices to ensure maximum responsiveness
Error handling has been covered for cases where information from the API is not provided such as no image, no revenue details.
Deployment
The codebase and assets required are stored and deployed to github pages
