justgrimes's Issues

expired cert

justgrimes.review cert needs to be renewed; it appears to have expired.

justgrimes.review uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on November 8, 2017, 11:15 AM. The current time is November 9, 2017, 12:00 AM. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

Clear the form after voting

To encourage people to vote truthfully, I think it would help to clear the vote after a second or two. This could be combined with refreshing the form to allow another vote, which is useful in cases where multiple people want to chime in.

Begun the bot wars have.

Date: 2016-04-19, # of ratings: 30002, Average rating: 5.00

Do we (a) rate limit ratings by IP address or (b) release an API and IFTTT recipe and declare open season?

Operant conditioning to modify behavior based on rating

justgrimes.review is great but the whole experience lacks any real consequences. Without the introduction of some form of adverse stimuli per rating @justgrimes behavior will not be appropriately corrected. I think we need to establish a mechanism in which a bad rating results in @justgrimes being immediately shocked on a scale between 0-150 volts depending on the severity of the rating. Beyond shocks, other potential mechanisms include the use of visual, auditory, or haptic feedback. Additional integration with other services and future iot devices may afford additional feedback opportunities (flash lights via philips hue, play terrible music via amazon echo, disable appliances via wemo, disable air conditioning via nest, etc)

Proposed rating/shock system
5 rating = vibration (positive)
4 rating = vibration (positive)
3 rating = 20 volts
2 rating = 45 volts
1 rating = 150 volts

Such a process would require a notification system or rss feed to implement see #12

How do we feel about allowing a zero rating?

Poor performance on load

When I load justgrimes.review, the page hangs for 5-7 seconds while past ratings load. Profiling indicates most of the time is being spent in animation methods. It looks like this timer isn't long enough to span loading ratings, and then all the chart updates from loading historical data pile up. I don't really understand JS data binding or Meteor JS, so I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions.

Notifications or rss feed?

I think we need to build support for notifications i.e. there should be a way to notify users if justgrimes has been rated and if so what was he just rated; perhaps via a simple rss feed

Animate the graph upon review

A pleasing addition would be to have the current day justgrimes face in the line chart smile or frown upon review submission, depending on if the daily average moves up or down.
