For some reason it does NOT happen (error message) in your code, however you also use React 0.14.x where props should be already immutable.

I'm trying to reproduce your approach to filtering map results but in my code the line:

this.props.curFilter = this.state.filter;

is causing the error in the title of this issue. I'm suprised that it does not do so in your code as you also assign a value to this.props.curFilter which should be immutable.
