markdown-xblock's Issues

Entering ??() causes an error

If I enter the text

??()

into a markdown advanced unit in Open edX Lilac, I get an error when saving. When I hit cancel, and then re-edit the contents, they have been replaced with

jQuery224026320403201945375_1631189613449()

So some sort of weird substitution / error is going on...

Tables might be broken?

When I put in

| Syntax | Description |
| ----------- | ----------- |
| Header | Title |
| Paragraph | Text |

to a markdown box in open edx, while it does turn into a roughly space-deliminated table-looking thing, there doesn't appear to be any bars between table entries like I would expect. (And like I see here on github apparently.) Is this your expectation as well?

`iframes` not loading in LMS

I'm using this markdown-xblock in my OpenEdx. I did find one issue when using iframe. The whole content of that particular component does not load in MFE LMS if i add an iframe in the markdown.
Lets say i embed a youtube video

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jZGjzngtdRc" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The component does not load in MFE LMS, but loads in the legacy LMS.

I'm using the tutor and have added git+https://github.com/citynetwork/[email protected] in private.txt.
The component renders fine in the CMS, but not on LMS.

I'm not entirely sure if this is occurring due to OpenEdx or this X-block.

Doesn't work with tutor 17.0.0 / Open EdX Quince?

I have a brand new fresh install of Quince / tutor 17.0.0. I did pip install markdown-xblock==1.3.0. I re-launched Open edX with "tutor local launch". I imported a class from an older instance that used Markdown. However, I don't see the Markdown option under the Advanced component adding button anymore, nor do I see the the existing Markdown blocks in the imported class.

I suspect this needs an update to support Quince?
