Build fails - JDK version?

I assume a specific version of Java is needed to build this?
Can you share what version of JDK is needed to install? More importantly steps to work around this issue (e.g. do I just need to downgrade? Share specific steps on how to get this to work)

I get this error when trying to run the install:
