Chris, this is a great article; however, in post-2011 versions of jQuery, the videos do not render properly, consistently. Have you considered updating for 2014, er, 2015? Thanks!

I have attempted to use this JS on site with no luck. Have tried Chrome, FF and IE.

The video does not even appear at all most of time. Then sometimes will load/appear but it is not resized on small screens.

I know it works because it is working on your demo:) But since I am using jQuery mobile, could that be my issue? If it is jQuery mobile, could you recommend a similar method for it? Need people to just enter iframe code and not worry about CSS.

Just to let you know that your solution for responsive embedded videos is preventing from manually resizing the window of Firefox (i.e. you cannot resize the width of the Firefox's window when viewing the demo page). I have noticed this behavior with the latest update of Firefox (version 13).

There is already a bug report for this issue: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=765788

Just wanted to let you know about this, even if it's very probably Firefox's fault.
