You can already link to e.g. https://chimera-linux.org/docs/installation#risc-v-devices but there's no "user-friendly" way to do this, i.e. I have to inspect-element to get the element id and append it into the URL after an added #.

https://docs.voidlinux.org/installation/index.html for example just makes the whole headers links which could be done here as well.

Similar to https://voidlinux.org/ void-packages changes it would be neat to have something similar for cports on https://chimera-linux.org/ so visitors of the site can at a glance see package updates etc are happening while there necessarily isn't new images/posts except from months ago.

Perhaps it could even be further improved to show e.g. X days ago of each individual commit

It would be nice to have an rss or atom feed for the news on the page so people can stay up to date without manually viewing the site every time.
There seems to be a jekyll-feed plugin for that purpose.

While looking at the script /bin/chimera-prunekernels (See #38 ) I noticed the following statement at the script header:

I am not a lawyer -- but would it be better if we just released this (and any other scripts/code) which are in the "public domain" to some specific license (BSD, MIT etc.) ? This is because "public domain" could mean different things in different countries. Giving a specific license just makes things clearer to the future contributors and users about rights/responsibilities related to code in question. And if the code is released under some liberal license there should be minimal practical difference vs "public domain", right ?

Looking at the live cd download location https://repo.chimera-linux.org/live/latest/ I notice a sha256sums.txt file.

As the live cd is probably the first thing a new chimera user is going to download, it might be a good idea to sign the sha256sums.txt file.

It will increase confidence a bit.

If anybody ever tampered with sha256sums.txt and the live cd files, the signature verification would fail.

Also, a related question, is chimera using apk package / repository metadata signing ?

P.S. I didn't know which project I should have added this feature request. Let me know where I should direct my Chimera project-in-general issues in the future if this was not the correct project. Thanks again for Chimera !

another option would be to leave out the year in the notice

The documents are unreadable for me on the smartphone (pixel 6a, running graphene os, the browser is a fork of chromium): there's no way to move past the initial page, as the menu is not visible (the three bars only direct to the other parts of chimera website). E.g. void linux docs display the menu on the top, which works fine on my smartphone.

https://chimera-linux.org/docs/installation/live/install (source) should be updated to use chimera-live-{bootstrap,chroot} install helper scripts (as added in chimera-linux/chimera-live@c048dc4), doing this probably only makes sense after new images are produced so the tools will actually be available for everyone reading the docs.

(it's cports, should write it in community/index.md most likely)

Why NOT more friendly? :

1. Why my NTFS disks not see in Nautilus? (MBR disks)
2. Why not have Gparted in OS ? (to mount disk`s with GParted)
3. where <<Setup utility to partition?>> (maybe, calamares?)

i used ubuntu linux, its more friendly, why chimera not much friendly? why so hard?
just FIXX <friendly...> to <> users.

This is not a critical issue or anything, not using UUIDs for /etc/fstab is just generally considered bad practice
