Generic Medicine Website This project deals with developing a Virtual website ‘Generic Medicine Website ’. It provides the user with a list of the various products available for purchase in the store. For the convenience of online shopping, a shopping cart is provided to the user. After the selection of the goods, it is sent for the order confirmation process. The system is implemented using Python's web framework Django.

1. Clone this repository into a folder on your computer
2. Download Python
3. Open terminal inside the folder with code.
4. Type pip install -r requirements.txt in the terminal window to install all the requirements to run the app.
5. Type python manage.py runserver to start a localhost server for the app.
6. The API is started and now you can use the API routes to give requests.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A generic medicine is developed to be the same as a medicine that has already been authorised, called the reference medicine. A generic medicine contains the same active substance (s) as the reference medicine, and it is used at the same dose (s) to treat the same disease(s). A generic drug must contain the same active ingredients as the original brand name formulation. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires generics to be identical to or within an acceptable bioequivalent range of their brand name counterparts, concerning pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties.

PROBLEMS

Price benefits Generic medicines are more affordable than non-generic medicines. You can save money significantly by purchasing generic medicines. As per the WHO recommendation, the availability of EMs should be 100%, Availability of generic medicines in public sectors is less than 60% across WHO regions, especially in Africa region [ 20 ]. In the United States, 9 out of 10 prescriptions filled are for generic drugs. Increasing the availability of generic drugs helps to create competition in the marketplace, which then helps to make treatment more affordable and increases access to healthcare for more patients.

A Full Stack website for generic medicine and a chatbot that works as a virtual person doctor for basic health problems. For severe problems, there will be an option for doctor appointments in the nearest hospitals. Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than their brand-name counterparts, often costing 80-85% less. This makes them more accessible and affordable.
