Usage

Important

If you are using a version below 0.26.2, view the instructions on the pre-0.26.2 tag.

Tip

This theme looks best paired with a matching Catppuccin theme for your terminal.

  1. Copy the flavor(s) of your choice from themes/ to your GitUI configuration directory (typically ~/.config/gitui).
  2. You can either alias the gitui command to gitui -t catppuccin-<flavor>.ron (where <flavor> is mocha, macchiato, frappe, or latte) in your shell's configuration, or rename the flavor in the configuration directory to theme.ron (to load it as the default theme).

gitui's Issues

Colors broken on gitui 0.26.2

In version 0.26.2 of gitui, an upstream breaking change has modified how colors should be defined on themes extrawurst/gitui#2235, and, therefore, all themes in this repo must be ported for this version to be supported.

text on extra cmdbar is unreadable

The background in the extra cmdbar is too conspicuous, which causes the text to be unreadable. The following screenshot illustrates the issue with palette "Mocha" and occurs in other palettes as well

Update README for newer versions of gitui

Thanks for the themes! The default one is atrocious..

Be that as it may, it appears that gitui now supports changing the default theme by editing ~/.config/gitui/theme.ron. I didn't see the changes until I restarted gitui.

The color for the added file doesn't make sense.

The theme uses two types of orange for changes and added files. I believe that's not very good UX; it should use green for added files. Using two shades of orange for different things is definitely not the way to go.

How to install on Windows?

Installed guiui with winget.

Laucnhing gitui in a repo did not create anything in ~/.config/gitui.

I created a theme.ron and populated it with mocha, restarted my terminal, ran gitui in a repo.

No theme.
