We finally found IE11 to be completely unable to play mixed contents without ugly work arounds (pushing the license of the encrypted content first).
As:
- supporting it would be a lot more code difficult to maintain
- mixed contents is not really what we could call widespread
- most people we're working with tend to deprecate IE11
We decided to perform the work-around that has been (for now) checked to work with:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Edge
But which doesn't work with IE11. That's unfortunate but that was a pragmatic and though-out decision. Please open another issue if that bothers you.
This has been merged as part of #466. This feature will be available in the next release.
