UnpackIt

This Go library allows you to easily unpack the following files using magic numbers:

tar.gz
tar.bzip2
tar.xz
zip
tar

Usage

Unpack a file:

    file, _ := os.Open(test.filepath)
    err := unpackit.Unpack(file, tempDir)

Unpack a stream (such as a http.Response):

    res, err := http.Get(url)
    err := unpackit.Unpack(res.Body, tempDir)

I also tried it with "Run as Administrator" in Windows 10 but it doesn't work.

unpackit.Unpack There is a compatibility problem

There is a compatibility problem. The old version returns two values, and the latest version returns only one

tmpdir, err := unpackit.Unpack(f, "")

returns EOF error when unpack textfile

What version of Go are you using (`go version`)?

What did you do?

unpack textfile with the following code:

	tmpFile, err := ioutil.TempFile(os.TempDir(), "")
	if err != nil {
		log.Fatal("Cannot create temporary file", err)
	}

	// Remember to clean up the file afterwards
	defer os.Remove(tmpFile.Name())

	// Example writing to the file
	text := []byte("lorem ipsum")
	if _, err = tmpFile.Write(text); err != nil {
		log.Fatal("Failed to write to temporary file", err)
	}
	tmpFile.Close()

	fileToProcess := tmpFile.Name()
	fOpen, err := os.Open(fileToProcess)

	}

	_, err = unpackit.Unpack(fOpen, "/tmp/unpackit")
	if err != nil {

	}

What did you expect to see?

proper error message, ie: unsupported file

What did you see instead?

EOF error

Sanitize archived file names before attempting a write to disk

This is to avoid malicious archives overwriting sensible files such as /etc/passwd
