What the problem is:

When a user authenticates themselves with the &confirm command, If the school + their name is longer than 32 characters, renaming fails as seen above as nicknames have a maximum length of 32 characters

What needs to be done:

Perhaps, add a mapping for School to the initials of the school to shorten the length of what needs to be nicknamed so as to reduce chances of the bot erroring out.

In the event that the school initial + full name is still too long, perhaps add a feature that either:

• Does not verify them and asks them to send something <32 char
• PMs them and tells them to change their nickname manually, following the format SCHOOL_INITIAL NAME, while alerting organisers in a separate channel that this user has not been properly renamed yet.

Bot currently gets people to sign up for the 2021 event, even after the event has closed

I think the current repository is not updated to the latest code. Can you upload the latest code to this repo?

After the user enters the necessary commands in the #verification channel, the bot will remove their unverified role but will not add the participant role and change the user's nickname.

User will be left with no roles and their normal discord username. This allows them to view all the channels that are visible to the @everyone role.

However, when an organiser manually adds the participant role to the user, the user's nickname will change to their originally inputted nickname in the #verification channel.

Currently, we have to manually ping the users whenever they are stuck at #verification, this takes a lot of time and effort for the organisers.

Can we have a discord bot command which is only available for use by the @school-leads, @OIC, @temp_admin roles to dm everyone in the #verification chat who have the @Unverified role to ask them to verify, and if they have any questions can pm any of the OICs, or school-leads.
