When I change something for one midi file, (for example: Note falling rate, colors,) it changes it for all the other midi files too. Why does it keep doing this and how can I fix it?

I'm on Windows 10, with a presonus USB 96, and a Korg piano that only has MIDI OUT, then i can play the songs but since i don't have MIDI IN in my piano, i can't listen. It will be nice if i could listen with the audio of the computer instead of with the MIDI output.

How do I turn off individual instruments? So that disabled instruments do not appear and play.

Is it possible to change the output sound of the piano like in synthesia, i find synthesia hard to work with in this is just a easier alternative. The only thing i want to change is the sound of the piano. Is that possible?

When using learning mode it says you learn one track at a time, but I couldn't find where to choose the track I want to learn.

Hi I tried uploading midi files into software but none of them "show up" in folders where i 100% left them. I checked if they are actually midi files to see where is problem but the files themselves are working perfectly fine. Any way how to solve this?

One morning when I started up PFA there was no sound even with the PFA,TV and PC volume at max.

If I use "Play Song" or "Practice Song" then the keys on my Yamaha EZ 220 are lighted. If I use "Learn Song" the keys are not lighted. Is this a bug or have I missed any setting? Any hint is really appreciated.

Loved your piano from above so far, honestly it's amazing. Could you just add a function/keyword to repeat the midi over and over again?

For some reason, ALL of my RAM is being used as soon as I open PFA. What do I need to do to fix this?

I have downloaded Piano From Above, and I have gone to launch it and get displayed with the screen to enter the admin password. Because I don't know the admin password, I extracted the file and found the file without the admin sign thing. I go click on it i get displayed with a message that says "The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx_43.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." I have reinstalling it and got the error, is there way I can get around this error, or get a version that doesn't require the admin password.

i take a youtube video, convert it to mp3 using https://ytmp3.cc/en191efcqp/ . Then I take the mp3 and convert it to .midi format using https://www.bearaudiotool.com/mp3-to-midi . when i play the midi file, no matter what song it is, it always sounds different as in the notes are clustered and played in a random way that they are not supposed to be and it sounds tragic. ive tried looking for help on this everywhere but i cant find any solution.

Currently there aren't native binaries provided for Linux and MacOS available for the general public in the same way there are for Windows.

As far as I can tell I only use it in a single place and only a circular buffer. Implement yourself or use a different structure.

As long as the boost dependency is removed, this just involves including pre built protocol buffer libaries in the repo so it's way easier for new users to build.

When I first loaded the program it played my MIDI files OK. Then after a few minutes it refused all my MIDI files with this message. I tried downloaded MIDI files, files created with Anvil Studio and files exported from Ableton Live. All stopped working with this message.

What is a "MIDI input device" and how do I plug one in?

The only reason PFA is reasonably fast is 1: data structures and 2: notes are extremely simple to render (just a few triangles). It's actually fairly inefficient in terms of rendering.

The problem is that every frame, every triangle on screen gets resent to the video card. I think it would be far faster to send the triangles once. Have them stored on in the video card memory, and simply translate the scene as needed.

For small files, could just send the whole MIDI visualization. For a large one, could cut up the song into several buffers.

This would be a fairly difficult change and a lot of the rendering would have to be rewritten.

Could the program send the pressed keys to the MIDI out, too?
This would be usable for MIDI controllers without their own sound.

so i installed pfa and when i tried to open a midi through the "practice song" button, i selected the midi, and then it just closes the program. also, sometimes it works, and others it doesnt. its really weird

I am on a Windows 8.1 machine running a Focusrite 2i4 audio interface through ASIO. There is no audio output through the app.

Is there a way to color-code notes? My kid has been learning to play from color coded piano book, it's much easier to explain to him "now press red" than "press the C"
