I'd love to have a filter to only show All parking lots, only lots that are Public, or only lots that are Private. There are tags for all of that in OSM, but I don't have the tools to break that out. (Oh, and big props for the "download geojson" link - that makes it really nice to be able to pull the data and use it in other maps!)

And I can automatically add to OSM?

Great project! Just starting a thread here to talk about what's missing.

Most of the car parking that I know in OSM (at least in Australia) doesn't currently have a tag specifying that it is a surface carpark. Moreover, there seems to be a general understanding that unless it is specifically tagged as underground or part of some building, it's assumed to be surface.

Obviously this isn't ideal and over time this needs to be fixed. However, until then, about 80% of car parking isn't showing up on this map.

Here's an example of central Melbourne. First image is OpenParkingMap, the second is overpass with a simple amenity=parking tag.

As you can see it's quite a big difference.

I would like to see OpenParkingMap actively exclude non-surface parking tags, and include any blank tags - i.e. parking=*

Anyway that's my two cents worth :)

And chance "Show Surface Parking" to something more general, like "Land Devoted to Parking" "At-Grade Parking"

Would be nice if one was able to download parking polygons in an area in shp kml etc

I suspect the project would be used a lot more if it were easy to share a URL for a specific city or location. Something like https://www.openparkingmap.com/#philadelphia that I could embed in an article would be incredibly helpful!
