Include SUM of the rows

First, thanks for the plugin.
Could be possible to add an automatic row with the sum (see screenshot)

Make it usable without having to read a third-party tutorial

Just moving @kannes' ticket from the previous repo (#9):

Out of the box the plugin is not usable as there is no indication how to use it. Double-clicking fields does not do anything, right-clicking neither. I had to google and find Anita's tutorial at https://anitagraser.com/2013/02/02/group-stats-tutorial/ before I could even do the most basic things.

Please add some visible placeholder text to the Columns, Rows and Value boxes that tell the user to drag Fields there. Maybe even include hints as to what these boxes represent. The big blank space on the left could also have some indicator as to what will appear there.

Translating code to english

Just a heads up.

I found this tool useful but stumbled upon bugs. To be able to fix these bugs I've been working on translating the code to english (https://github.com/HenrikSpa/GroupStats.git)

Current status:

  • Most of the code (maybe all) is converted to english (using google translate).
  • I've added tests to make sure the plugin is working as intended after the translation.
  • I've added support for "double" and "QVariant" value types.
  • No bugs that I know of at the moment (but there probably are).

Todo:

  • Add tests for the rest of the features.
  • Test manually to make sure there are no more bugs.

feature request: math operations on the values

Hi, I was wondering if you are considering to add the ability to perform math operations on the values. Example: say your dataset is a set of buildings. For each building you know the total area and the amount of apartments. You also know ownership and building age information. With groupstats you set ownership as the column and building age as the row and you choose as values area and number of apartments. What I would like to show in the spreadsheet is 'area / number of apartments'.

export to CSV

saving CSV processing known that:

  1. the separator is ; (semicolon and non-comma);
  2. all even lines are empty

Not working on temporary scratch layers?

Hi,
Thanks for upgrading the plugin to QGIS3. It's a great plugin!

I just experienced that the plugin doesn't work on temporary scratch layers (which are the default output from many of the processing tools). It says no data in the botton of the dialog.

When I save the layer as a real layer (not a temporay scratch layer) the same layer with the same setting works fine.

Qlonglong/Integer64 is regarded as text

Glad to find Groupstats in QGIS3 too :-)

But it still has issues with values stored as Qlonglong/Integer64 - it is regarded as text and you cannot use them for calculations.

I am using Win 7, 64 bit
QGIS 3.4.2
Groupstats 2.1.3
