The addon should be prepared for i18n.

It ought to be possible to fix this together with issue #12 (Port it to Thunderbird) and/or #13 (Port it to Fennec) but I'm creating the issue so that (if ever this extension gets any support again, of which I'm far from hopeful since "simple" issues one year old are still unattended) SeaMonkey doesn't get forgotten.
I would expect this addon to work in Thunderbird and SeaMonkey after adding either one additional targetApplication tag for each app, or one for [email protected], or both.

Perhaps some folks want to keep their Ctrl-K to focus the search box. It should be configurable, which key combination fires up the digraph detection.

Vim has the ability to add custom digraphs. This should be possible here, too. Overwriting the defaults should be possible.

The possibility already exists, but there is no UI at the moment.

When, after issuing the Ctrl-K, a non-printing (aka not U+0020-U+0126) char or a ctrl+X or alt+X is hit, the digraph detection should be canceled.

The addon only works inside windows. It should work globally, i.e., in XUL-Chrome, too.

If <C1><C2> doesn’t exist, check for digraph <C2><C1>.

Is this a bug or a feature? If you hit Ctrl-K twice, you get the search field focused.

Vim: "M" + "-" -> "—"
We: "M" + "-" -> nothing, waiting for more chars to complete "M-." or "M-o"

Needs #10. Are there mechanisms to do this? Is it useful to have digraph support in, say Songbird?

While technically not "digraphs", the RFC contains mnemonics with three and more letters. Perhaps we should check for them, too.

Vim doesn’t, as far as I know.

Relates to #10. Is it overall useful to do? What would be the activation sequence on mobile devices?

This is very low priority. But some Vim users may have been accustomed to this behaviour (:set digraphs). It should in any case be disabled by default.

Implementation is not so straight forward, since we must track every simple keystroke to react, if the following is a <BS>.

Should work, but we need a test before declaring it FF4-ready.
