When the build was finished, I want to send local announcements.
I will improve startup progress logging.
When I try to run the watch task, I receive the following error:
Could not find property 'sourceSets' on root project
I checked my code and everything seems like it should be working correctly... Any advice?
AILURE: Build failed with an exception.
What went wrong:

Try:
Run with --stacktrace option to get the stack trace. Run with --info or --debug option to get more log output.
I try to start jettyRun and watch task together. But I got this error no matter which one start first.
Did anyone meet the same problem before?
This happened recently, never meet this before.
Is there anyway to have a background mode? Or maybe add a task to be executed when the watch plugin starts?
I'm trying to use it with another plugin (ratpack) that does not hand off control, similar to this plugin. Been trying to figure out how to do either:
a. Tell watch to run a task after it the task has started. For example:

startAtEnd = "someOtherTask"
}
b. Tell watch to go to background mode:

// configuration

}
Is it by design, that local properties have to have a value in your plugin? If I just do gradle -PmyLocalProperty task
gradle itself says that hasProperty("myLocalProperty")
is true

When I'm starting the watch task with gradle watch -Pfoo=bar
I'd expect that any tasks that are triggered by a file change also have a foo
property with the value bar
.
Watch plugin doesn't work with Gradle 1.12. As soon as it detects a change, it gives the following stack trace:

This plugin is launching an extra daemon process...
I tried using org.gradle.daemon=false
and gradle --no-daemon
and the result is the same:
My watch task is a simple Copy task, and I'm using watch v0.1.5
This is wasting a lot of resources!
@bluepapa32 can you confirm this?
Something along the lines of this:

I'm not sure if this is the 'gradle way', but if I wanted to configure this in a separate file, this is what I have to do:
in build.gradle:

If you notice, I had to import the WatchPlugin class and apply it that way.
Not sure if this is an issue you need to worry about, but in case people wanted to separate out this config... is there a better way? or a more idiomatic gradle way?
When Gradle is run on console, I want to output colorized messages.
Great plugin, thanks very much for making it available. There is one annoyance, though.
We try to store all dependencies in a local Artifactory instance, which is set up to mirror Maven Central, JCenter and a few other major repos out there. As this plugin doesn't publish to those, I have several options, none of which are very appealing:
I think publishing to JCenter is a bit less cumbersome than publishing to Maven Central, and Gradle 1.7 added a specific JCenter function to make grabbing stuff from there easy. Either of those would make our lives a fair bit easier.

This would allow for example to have one compile watching task that compiles on a change in a source dir and additionally have a watching test tasks that runs compile and test on a change. You simply start whatever task you need. To put it more abstract: it would allow having multiple watcher tasks with overlapping watched dirs. :)
You could provide a default task 'watch' (as it is currently) and configure the task directly and not via a project extension. And a user could just create an additional task with other WatchTarget's

Is this plug-in still actively maintained? If not, what are the alternatives or is a fork more current? There haven't been any comments from the developer on open issues. And PR are not merged either. This really is too bad, since it is a very helpful plugin!

Is there a any way to get the path of the changed file?
I want to do incremental builds, invoking task for all files takes too much time.
