bluemapwiki's Issues

[Question] [Documentation] - Player live file

I am using the BlueMap Command Line Tool and would like to display the player's position in my single player world.
I found a player file in the web/live folder and would like to save the data there.
Can you tell me if this is possible and how the data needs to be saved?
Maybe this could be included in the documentation.

Community Guide for making Resourcepacks

I'd love to write this one myself, but I feel like there are other people who could write this much better than I.
Currently, I know next to nothing about creating resourcepacks anymore.

Create guide for Nether Roof map

  1. inside your BlueMap/maps/ folder, there should be a world_nether.conf file (or similarly named). duplicate that, and call the other one world_nether_roof.conf (or similar)
  2. inside the normal world_nether.conf file, set render-edges to false, and set max-y to 126
this makes it possible to see through the roof, into the cavey nether inside, and it prevents rendering the stuff on the roof
  3. inside the duplicated world_nether_roof.conf file, set the name to "Nether Roof", so you can make out the different maps on your BlueMap website
  4. uncomment (remove the # in front of) and set the min-y to 127, and comment out the max-y (put a # in front of it
this makes sure only the nether roof is rendered, and not anything else
  5. do /bluemap reload and then do /bluemap purge world_nether, to rerender the normal nether map with your newly changed settings

now both of your nether maps should be rendering properly
you can check their progress by running /bluemap
you can also go onto the bluemap website already, and click the Update Map button in the menu to see the rendered areas

Community Customisation Guide TODO List

(Todo list for myself, feel free to ignore)

  • Add "How to clone, edit, and recompile the actual webapp" section
  • Move the three JS snippets out of the guide and into separate GitHub Gists, linked from the #3rd page
    • Explain in the guide where to find more scripts and addons (which is the #3rd page)
  • Explain how to hard-refresh with the devtools for the customisations that (may) need it
    • Also mention to clear the cache of any other in-between layers, like nginx or Cloudflare, etc
  • Link to #77 once that gets made
  • In the FAQ, link to the new light fix guide

Suggestion: add MSH as setup example

I see that at the following page LazyMC is referenced.

Do you think also MSH (developed mainly by me and 10 other contributors) would be worth adding as an option? I had some of my users tell me that the concept is similar with some pros and cons for each solution.

Sorry for opening an issue but I didn't have any other way of contacting you, if you want we can talk on my discord server
