Attempts to change the config's name to pedant/es6 or pedant/es2015 gives the same result.

hmm ... Maybe using .eslintrc.json > {"extends": "pedant"} is necessary?

UPD: with using the personal_config_file returns samme result.

I overcame the problem after I added

         "parserOptions": {
                 "ecmaVersion": 6
         }

in ~/.eslintrc.json

then, by default, running eslint ./lib.json(not -c pedant!) returns the correct errors.

Thanks for attention!

managed to understand the problem. I close the issue.
The problem was in the default parsing es6 configuration in .eslintrc which is not mentioned in README

I created PR to correct this defect in README.md
