Sometimes I receive this error message for an unknown reason

"Could not find any player: D-Bus call failed: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.""

only reboot helps

Is there a way to specify which application should be controlled? I discovered this need when wanted to control spotify but had youtube open in chrome and the application would only control youtube. As soon as I closed the tab, control went back to spotify.
