Xaero's World Map

Description

Xaero’s World Map Mod 1.14.4/1.12.2 adds a self-writing fullscreen map to your Minecraft client. Works as a separate mod but is a lot better with Xaero’s Minimap. The reason why it’s available separately is to keep Xaero’s Minimap as light-weight as possible.

Features

  • Self-writing world map. Different for every world/dimension/server.
  • Works in Singleplayer, Multiplayer and on Realms.
  • Interactive interface. Open by pressing M. Move the map around with your mouse and zoom in/out using the mouse wheel, similar to Google Maps.
  • Automatic MultiWorld / Lilypadded servers support.
  • Minecraft Realms support (also with MultiWorld support).
  • Texture Pack support. Changing the texture packs updates the whole world map and not just the new chunks.
  • Cave dimensions support (similar to Nether).
  • Vanilla maps mode. Makes the world map look like vanilla paper maps.
  • Terrain texture customization.
  • “Footsteps” showing your most recent path.
  • Optional performance boosters.
  • Xaero’s Minimap integration. The minimap mod will display chunks loaded by the world map. The world map mod will display waypoints from the Xaero’s Minimap. Also works with Better PVP mod.

Thaumcraft

Description

Thaumcraft Mod 1.12.2/1.10.2 allows you to use the magic around you in the form of “vis” (pronounced “Veece”) to perform different tasks and create fantastic items. This mod adds bunch of magical arcane blocks and items into your game. Although the Thaumonomicon is the in-game “wiki”, it doesn’t cover everything.

Thaumaturgy… which giveth certain order to make strange works, of the sense to be perceived and of men greatly to be wondered at. Thaumaturgy is the capability of a magician to work miracles. A practitioner of thaumaturgy is a thaumaturge, thaumaturgist or miracle worker.

This is what this mod is all about – drawing magic from physical objects in the form of Essentia and reshaping it to perform miracles.

Features

Adding Thaumcaft world generation to existing worlds:

Yes, you heard that right. You can add all the ores, trees and other worldgen features to existing worlds by changing a few things in your config files. Remember: this could be risky so always backup your saves beforehand.

If this is the first time loading Thaumcraft with that save, you can leave the regen_key setting as ‘DEFAULT’ otherwise set it to anything else.
You need to choose what to regenerate. I strongly recommend you set aura_nodes to ‘true’ if this is the first time you are doing this. Without the aura you won’t be able to do 99.9% of the things you could in Thaumcraft.
Run the game. It will lag for a while and you should see some console spam about chunks being regenerated. This is fine – just wait it out. It shouldn’t take too long. If the world had been explored a lot you might see the message reappear every now and again. This is also normal.
If, for some reason, you wish to do this again or somehow your savefile got corrupted and your aura nodes have gone missing, all you need to do is set the regen_key value to something else. Any word would do.
Important: If you chose to generate TC ores and such in an existing world It is best to keep the config as-is. Do not switch everything off again after running the game or server once. As you explore chunks that have been explored in the past, but you haven’t visited yet the new TC will regen in them as well. If you turn it off before you get a chance to revisit them nothing will be genererated and you will have to do the regeneration from scratch to add it to those chunks which could cause doubling of ores and nodes.

Better Storage Too

Description

Better Storage Too Mod 1.14.3/1.12.2 is a mod that allows us to have lot of space to put our item. In Minecraft it only has 27 boxes but in better storage too mod it has 200 more slots to put in thousands of items and to store. This mod offers a bunch of new storage options for Minecraft. You now have more choices with broader storage and security than standard chests. Lockers function like vertical chests with doors on the front. They can be stacked right next to each other unlike regular chests. You can lock reinforced chests and lockers with a lock and key. The lock is crafted with the key and then that key is left behind in the craft process. That key is the only one that can unlock that lock. So you simply shift+click on your chest/locker and then shift+click to unlock the lock with the key. Plus they take on different colors depending on which ore you use to craft them and they have more storage capacity than traditional lockers and chests. And crates are an expandable storage system that can be stacked into 5x5x5 cubic piles. They offer a broader capacity but the drawback is that only a random selection can be accessed each time you open them.

There’s also a simpler cardboard box option that has limited uses but can also be used to transport items from place to place. Just load items into the box and break it. You’ll see the items listed in the box’s inventory while carrying it. Then just place it anywhere and you’re good to go.

Features

  • Crates: Crates initially have limited storage capacity, but can be stacked up to a 5x5x5 cubic pile. Only a small random selection of items can be accessed at a time.
  • Lockers: Lockers are basically vertical chests.
  • Reinforced Chests and Lockers: Stores more than their standard counterparts. Different materials are cosmetic only, and do not effect the capacity of the chest or locker.
  • Locks and keys: Can be used to secure reinforced chests, lockers and iron doors. Can also be dyed.
  • Cardboard: Cardboard can be used to create limited-use transport boxes, amour and tools. Cardboard items can also be dyed.

RandomPatches

Description

RandomPatches Mod 1.14.3/1.12.2 contains a bunch of miscellaneous patches for Minecraft. RandomPatches only contains features that require ASM transformers. Tweaks that don’t require ASM transformers go in RandomTweaks.
When installed on the client, RandomPatches should be completely compatible with vanilla servers, and when installed on a server, it should be completely compatible with vanilla clients. This also means that the client can connect with a different version of the mod to the one on the server.

Features

Read and login timeouts

  • The read and login timeouts are hardcoded in vanilla Minecraft and are often not long enough for slower computers.
  • On Minecraft 1.9 and higher, RandomPatches allows you to configure the login timeout, and on Minecraft 1.12 and higher, the read timeout is also configurable.
  • By default, RandomPatches sets the read timeout to 90 seconds and the login timeout to 900 seconds.
  • The read timeout is the time the server waits for a response to the KeepAlive packet it sends every set interval. This interval can also be configured on Minecraft 1.9 and higher.
  • The read timeout is automatically rounded up to a product of the KeepAlive packet interval.
  • The login timeout generally has more impact than the read timeout.
  • This also sets the “fml.readTimeout” and “fml.loginTimeout” system properties.
  • These timeouts can be configured and take effect in-game unless the NetHandlerPlayServer patches are disabled in the configuration.

Force return to the title screen

  • In vanilla, the game returns to the Multiplayer/Realms menu when disconnecting from a server.
  • RandomPatches provides an option to force returning to the title screen after disconnecting.
  • This option is disabled by default.
  • This can be used in conjunction with ServerObserver. If you have auto-connect enabled and leave a server to go AFK, without this mod, ServerObserver automatically rejoins the server because Minecraft returns to the Multiplayer menu.
  • This can be configured and take effect in-game unless you set “patchTitleScreenOnDisconnect” to false.

Configurable player speed limits

  • On Minecraft 1.9 and higher, this removes the rubber banding and the “ moved too quickly!” log spam that occurs when players move too fast.
  • The normal movement speed, elytra movement speed, and vehicle movement speed can be configured.
  • This feature disables itself if SpongeForge is installed since it already has this functionality.
+These limits can be configured and take effect in-game unless the NetHandlerPlayServer patches are disabled in the configuration.

Faster language switching

  • Almost removes the lag from switching to another language.
  • This was taken from FastLang.
  • This cannot be toggled in-game.

Toggle Narrator keybind

  • Adds a Toggle Narrator keybind.
  • This is similar to Rebind Narrator, but RandomPatches’ version is slightly more consistent with vanilla behavior.
  • This feature disables itself when Rebind Narrator is installed.
  • Since the narrator was implemented in 1.12, this only works in Minecraft 1.12 and higher.
  • This feature cannot be enabled/disabled in-game.

End Portal tweaks

  • Fixes the End portal and End gateway break particle textures and improves End portal rendering.
  • In vanilla Minecraft, the particle textures are missing so they show as purple and black, and End portals only render from above.
  • RandomPatches changes this by adding its own particle textures and forcing portals to render from both up and down.
  • This feature only works on 1.11 and above and is completely client-side.
  • I am aware that on 1.13 and above, End portals use obsidian’s break particle textures. However, I think the ones I’m using now look better.

Recipe Book NBT Fix

  • This is a fix for MC-129057, which prevents ingredients with NBT data from being transferred to the crafting grid when a recipe is clicked in the recipe book.
  • Although RandomPatches’ fix is slightly more mod-compatible in theory, it disables itself when VanillaFix is installed.

Boat tweaks

  • This is a better implementation of the Buoyant Boats tweaks in CplPibald’s Tweaks.
  • The underwater boat buoyancy can be configured.
  • In vanilla, underwater boats have a buoyancy of -0.0007, which means they sink.
  • RandomPatches by default changes the buoyancy of underwater boats to 0.023, making them float and allowing them to travel upwards.
  • There is also an option to prevent underwater boat passengers from being ejected after 60 ticks (3 seconds), which is disabled by default.
  • Unlike CplPibald’s Tweaks, which creates a custom boat entity, RandomPatches works by patching the EntityBoat class, which makes this feature work with vanilla clients connecting to servers with this mod installed.
  • The underwater boat buoyancy and underwater boat passenger ejection prevention take effect in-game when changed.

Minecart AI Fix

  • This is just a very simple fix for MC-64836. This bug causes non-player entities to be able to use their AIs to move minecarts, which can interfere with automation.
  • This cannot be enabled/disabled in-game.

MC-2025 Fix

  • Fix for MC-2025. This only works on 1.10 and above, although it could be made to work for 1.8.
  • In vanilla Minecraft, entities’ bounding boxes are recalculated every time they are created. This is not always accurate, which can lead to entities suffocating.
  • RandomPatches fixes this by storing entities’ relative bounding boxes (in a tag list called RelativeAABB) and restoring them when they are created.

Remove potion glint

  • Removes the glowing effect from potions.
  • This option is disabled by default, and cannot be toggled in-game.
  • This was taken from NoMoreGlowingPots.

Skull stacking fix

  • In vanilla Minecraft, player skulls do not stack if they were obtained in different sessions.
  • RandomPatches fixes this by making Minecraft treat NBT tags as equal if the SkullOwner tags are functionally equivalent.
  • By default, skulls are only treated as equivalent if the textures are the same, but this can be disabled so that skulls with the same player profile are treated as the same.

Configurable window title/icon

  • This allows the window title and icon to be configured.
  • The title is set immediately and the icon is set a few seconds after the window is created.
  • This loads much earlier than It’s the little things’ version but will disable itself if ITLT is installed.
  • On versions below 1.9, the title and icon will load a bit later.
  • The title and icon are configurable in-game and are set to the vanilla title and icon by default.

Configuration

  • All features are configurable.
  • On Minecraft 1.10 and higher, /rpreload reloads the server-side configuration and /rpreloadclient reloads the client-side configuration (which are the same thing in a singleplayer world).
  • On Minecraft 1.11 and higher, there is a configuration GUI. Many options can be changed in-game, and many also take effect in-game.
  • Using /rpreload or /rpreloadclient to reload the client-sided configuration does not update the window settings. Use the configuration GUI for this instead.

RandomPatches also allows other mods (namely RandomPortals) to replace the default Teleporter and portal renderer.

BuildCraft

Description

BuildCraft Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2 is a very big mod that allows for automation in Minecraft. It is a mod that extends Minecraft with a system of powered machines and tools. It adds many machines for automating tasks, and pipes for transportation of items, liquids, and energy.

The biggest additions of BuildCraft are Pipes and MJ (Minecraft Joules). Pipes are used to transport items, fluids, and mechanical energy between inventories/machines. There are many different types of pipes all with unique functions, including Wooden, Cobblestone, Stone, Sandstone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald and Obsidian. Pipes can be combined with Pipe Sealant to allow them to make Fluid Pipes that can transport liquids or with Redstone to make Kinesis Pipes to allow them to transport mechanical energy. MJ is used to power BuildCraft and BuildCraft-compatible machines. For example, Thermal Expansion’s machinery needs MJ.

Features

Machines

In BuildCraft, there are a variety of machines that can be used to automate processes. They all require Redstone Flux (RF) energy to function, provided by one or more engines.

  • Quarry: This machine will mine an area down until it reaches lava or bedrock.
  • Mining Well: This machine will dig straight down until it reaches lava or bedrock. It is used in the making of a Pump.
  • Pump: This machine will pump liquids and transport them through waterproof pipes.
Autocrafting Table: This machine, when supplied a recipe and ingredients, will pump out crafted items. A nearby chest will have materials pulled out of it to be used.
  • Refinery: This machine, when powered by a stirling engine or better, will slowly convert oil into fuel, which is much more efficient for powering combustion engines than crude oil.
  • Tank: A simple stackable tank rather than a machine, it can store liquids, including lava, water, Oil , and fuel.

Engines

+Engines are used to power the machines and builders. They can also be used to pull items out of inventories with a wooden pipe. Other mods included in FTB such as Forestry and Railcraft add more engines to the game, e.g. the electrical engine which uses IC2 power (EU), and produces MJ power. Engines turn on when they are powered by redstone, and slowly speed up as they heat up. If the engine gets too hot then it will explode. Redstone engines however cannot explode if they are connected to anything that accepts energy such as a wooden pipe.

Transport

  • Pipes are used to transport items, liquids and power between inventories. There are 8 different types of pipes all with unique functions, these are Wooden, Cobblestone, Stone, Sandstone, Iron, Gold, Diamond and Obsidian. Pipes can be combined with Pipe Waterproof to allow them to make Waterproof Pipes that can transport liquids or with redstone to make Conductive Pipes to allow them to transport energy.

Building

These will all allow for the automated building and, in some cases, destruction of blocks.

  • Filler: This machine does a variety of options depending on the pattern that is defined within the GUI.
  • Builder: This machine will build the anything defined by a blueprint provided it has access to the requisite resources, which it shows in its GUI.
  • Architect Table: An architect table is used to copy a volume of interest and ‘scan’ and save it to a blueprint for later use in a builder.
  • Blueprint: This is used in an architect table to save the scanned area for later use in a builder. It stores the actual block type.
  • Template: Similar to the blueprint, this stores a description of the blocks within an area allowing it to be recreated by a builder, however the template only stores the blocks location, not its type.
  • Land Mark: You can use these to select an area for the architect table, as well as the Quarry and Filler.

Gates

  • Gates are the BuildCraft way to make advanced detections and interactions possible. They are capable of many things, such as detecting engine heat, inventory, MJ energy storage, machine states, items flowing in pipes and redstone signals.

Gears

  • Gears are key components in BuildCraft, and are used to make everything from Engines to Quarries and Autocrafting Tables. They are available in 5 varieties which all build upon each other. Other mods add additional gears to the mod pack such as Forestry which adds tin, copper and bronze gears for its machines, while Thermal Expansion also adds Tin and Copper Gears as well as Invar gears, however none of these are used in BuildCraft machines.

Pipes

  • Wooden Pipes are used to suck items out of inventories (or tanks, engines..). They don’t connect to each other, and they will need a Redstone Engine or better, or an Autarchic Gate to function. Wooden Pipes come in a Standard, a Waterproof and a Conductive version. Wooden conductive pipes are what engines need to connect to in order to send power elsewhere.
  • Cobblestone Pipes are your most basic transport pipes. They do not connect to Stone Pipes, and they are a very cheap means of getting items (only items, not liquids or power) around. Stuff sent through cobblestone pipes will slow down, and will eventually stop flowing.
  • Stone Pipes are a little bit better than Cobblestone, and won’t connect with them. They can be made into Waterproof or Conductive pipe, but they won’t be as good as Gold versions. They will also experience drag and eventually slow things down if they go a distance in them, but it won’t be as bad as with Cobblestone Pipes.
  • Sandstone Pipes won’t connect to machines. This makes them very useful for running a pipe directly behind or underneath a machine that you do not want to connect to your pipe network.
  • Iron Pipes are the start of your logic system. They are one-way pipes – items can come in in any direction, but they can only leave in one direction. Whack it with a wrench to change which facing is the output. Very useful when you have multiple machines all outputting to the same place, or when you have a ‘serial’ setup.
  • Golden Pipes will accelerate things that go through it. Space them out to keep your stuff flowing faster. Golden Fluid Pipes can hold more mB of liquid than other pipes. Golden Conductive Pipes have the least amount of energy loss per square.
  • Diamond Pipes are the most advanced of all above ones. Right-clicking it will open a complicated interface, which can prove very useful in sorting lots of stuff in your network. Basically, you put something in your diamond pipe on a color line, and all of that kind of item goes through that direction. Colors are assigned by cardinal direction, and are not affected by facing or player interaction.
  • Quartz Pipes have a low drag so items won’t slow down as much as in other pipes. Quartz Pipe won’t connect to Cobblestone or Stone Pipes.
  • Emzuli Pipes are advance extraction pipes which need to be used in conjunction with logic gates to function. Only four items can be chosen in accordance with the four wire colours. Additionally this pipe can paint items for routing later.
  • Lazuli Pipes paint items as they pass through with a chosen colour. This colour can then be used to help with routing.
  • Daizuli Pipes will route all items of a given colour to a chosen location.

MJ (Minecraft Joules)

+Redstone Engines produce the least amount of power. It is only good for powering pumps and wooden pipes. No, enough of them will not add up to a useful amount of power, it will just lag out your system trying.

  • Stirling Engines produce 1 MJ/t, and run on the stuff that you can use in furnaces too – Coal, Wood, Lava Buckets… It’s a reliable engine, and probably what you are going to start off with.
  • Combustion Engines produce a varying amount of MJ depending on the fuel they are supplied. They can also explode if they aren’t supplied with water. Combustion Engines have the highest theoretical MJ/t output of any engine other than Railcraft’s Steam Engines, with 6 MJ/t when running on Fuel.

Aether II

Description

Aether 2 Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2 (Aether II) is a very extensive mod for Minecraft adding in an opposite realm to the Nether. The Aether 2 is the sequel to the Aether 1. Much has changed since the days of the Aether 1, but it still remains a collaboration between people from various different disciplines with a shared goal of creating a new and unique dimension.

This mod is the sequel to the highly popular dimension mod “The Aether”, set in a hostile paradise miles up in the clouds, the Aether is an entirely different world from what regular players are used to, filled with fantastic creatures and mysterious structures, the Aether is a world brimming with life and history. You’ll have to relearn key ideas as the Aether challenges you with twisted materials, terrifying monsters and deep lore if you want to survive and prosper in this strange new land. As the mod comes closer to a final release, Dungeons, Biomes, NPC settlements will pepper the landscape, offering new and exciting challenges and experiences unique to this mysterious world.

Features

The Aether introduces several huge mechanical features to enhance the experience both in the Aether and everywhere else in Minecraft.

New Ores, Items, and Armor

  • While exploring the Aether you’ll come across a variety of new ores, such as Ambrosium and Gravitite. Search and discover each new ore and unlock its secrets!
  • The Aether 2 is also accompanied by several new sets of armor each accompanied by its own special ability. A full set of Neptune armor, for example will allow you to walk across the depths of the ocean with ease, and a full set of Valkyrie armor will allow you to fly! Getting your hands on these mythic sets won’t be easy, though. Fight and defeat dungeons, and if all else false, try your luck at using some Continuum!

Party System

  • First of all is the party system. Previously in Minecraft, the only real way to form a group with others without having to worry about things such as friendly fire were from overlaying plugins such as factions or towny over a Minecraft server. Now with the party system, you can form a party with your friends, complete with an overlay UI which lets you see who’s in your party, their health, their hunger, their armour and the amount of coins they have, without the need for plugins! Players can name their own party, and the maximum party size is 10 players.

Dungeons

  • One of the features we have worked on for this release is the dungeon system. This system isolates dungeons from the main world and functions with the party system. Dungeon blocks regenerate instantly if broken, meaning no one can get inside even with creative mode. Instead of players rushing into a dungeon and demolishing whatever’s there and looting, the dungeon system requires players to form a party first. When the party is ready, you simply right-click on the dungeon door and everyone confirms if they’re ready. Since a party can only have up to 10 players, dungeons will present a decent challenge to players. Only one party can be present in a dungeon at any given time.
  • Dungeons have three modes. The first mode is “available” meaning the dungeon is free for any party to enter. The second mode is “occupied”, meaning a party is already inside the dungeon. The third mode is “conquered”, which occurs after a player in your party has exhausted that dungeon. A dungeon becomes exhausted for a player either after the player finishes it or leaves when inside the dungeon three times. This prevents players from running the same dungeon for easy loot.
  • Dungeons also regenerate their loot, mini-bosses and bosses after a party leaves it, meaning that content is available for other parties. This ensures everyone gets a chance at dungeons, rather than whoever gets there first.
  • The first dungeon that this mod had added is the Sliders’ Labyrinth. This dungeon expands an entire island, meaning you’ll have no shortage of loot to grab, enemies to fight or chambers to explore!
  • The dungeon has three mini bosses which must be defeated before you can gain access to the final boss, the Slider. There’s a couple of new twists with this boss, so be careful!

Moas

  • Moas, peaceful and majestic giant birds, populate the Aether in three different colours: Blue, White and Black. Wild Moas cannot be tamed, but they do occasionally drop eggs of their respective colour. These eggs can be incubated with the Incubator block (using Ambrosium Torches). Once incubated, they can be fed with the Aechor Petals of Aechor Plants. They require 8 petals in total to grow, but are not always hungry and will occasionally refuse your offer (which can be done by right clicking them with the Aechor Petal). When grown, you have now completely tamed the Moa, and a saddle can be placed on their backs to ride. Blue Moas can perform 3 mid-air jumps, White Moas can perform 4 mid-air jumps, and Black Moas can perform 8 mid-air jumps.

Flying Pigs

  • Flying Pigs can also be found wandering around the Aether, and occasionally flying freely through the air. These creatures can be saddled with a Saddle, and flown around without having to deal with a taming process. This allows players to quickly hop into the action. However, Flying Pigs can only jump once, and do not have the privilege of mid-air jumps like the powerful flying Moas.

Aerwhales

  • Aerwhales, the gentle giants of the Aether, can be found floating in the horizon, munching on Golden Oaks and strips of Blue Aerclouds as the sun climbs higher in the sky. When the sun falls.

Cockatrices

  • Cockatrices crawl away from their well-hidden nests, ready to attack. Peaceful as they may seem, these deadly birds shoot poisonous needles at you when provoked. They are one of the few hostile mobs in the Aether.

Mutiplayer

  • How are you going to conquere dungeons with your friends without having a way to meet up? The Aether 2 is built on the Minecraft Forge API, allowing an easy way to create and manage Aether multiplayer servers.

Xaero's minimap

Description

Xaero’s Minimap Mod 1.14.3/1.12.2 has a very clean interface and blends well with the overall Minecraft aesthetic. You can set waypoints manually and even deathpoints will be created automatically if you die. Overall it’s very customizable to suit your needs.

Waypoints can be created by pressing B and you can even teleport to them if you want. You can also choose whether you want to see those in game or have them hidden. They’ll still remain in your list regardless, which can be access by pressing U.

Possibly the best part of this minimap is that it recognizes when you’re underground. This is greatly helpful if you’re trekking through caves and abandoned mines and need a quick reference of where you are. Combine that with waypoints and you’ll never get lost again.

The custom settings are what makes this map truly personal. You can adjust the size exactly to your liking. Set the display HUD to show players, items, and mobs. And even move it around wherever it works best for you. Choose wherever you want it to be or choose from one of four presets.

Features

  • Aesthetic feel and look of vanilla Minecraft.
  • Runs smoother than most minimap mods.
  • 2 mod editions: full and fair-play. Full version does not have any limits. Fair-play version does not display any entities or cave maps which is more suitable for public PVP servers.
  • 2 colour modes: Vanilla, which uses the colours of vanilla Minecraft maps and Accurate, which uses the colours of block textures.
  • Terrain texture customization.
  • Compatible with Xaero’s World Map and can use the chunks loaded by the world map instead of it’s own.
  • Option to limit your Minimap usage by binding it to an item that you’ll need to have in your hotbar in order for the minimap show up. For example, add minimapItemId:minecraft:compass anywhere in the config file to bind it to compass.
  • Multiple languages.
  • Ability to lock north.
  • Works both above and under ground.
  • Togglable chunk grid.
  • Togglable slime chunks mode.
  • Cave maps.
  • Waypoints. Infinite amount. Can be teleported to (permission needed). Press B to create a new waypoint. Press U to list all the waypoints.
  • In-game waypoints. Waypoints will also be visible in-game. Can be disabled.
  • Deathpoints. An automatic waypoint is created on each death.

Redstone Flux API

Description

Redstone Flux API 1.12.2 is the energy system used by the mods of Team CoFH. As described in Redstone Flux: A Primer, it is an extension of the redstone power system.

Various blocks and items in the CoFH mods consume Redstone Flux energy to accomplish all kinds of tasks. Redstone Flux is usually consumed for one of two reasons:

Replacing the requirement of manual labor in automated systems;
Adding a cost for doing things that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
The CoFH mods offer various ways to produce, move, store and consume Redstone Flux, such as Thermal Expansion’s dynamos and energy cell, and Thermal Dynamics’s fluxducts. Many other mods also add devices that work with Redstone Flux.

Redstone Flux: A Primer
Redstone – the mysterious substance found deep underground – is the source of limitless potential in this new age of industrialization. In its native ore form, it exhibits the fascinating property of absorbing kinetic impacts and emitting light. If a sufficiently strong implement, such as an iron pickaxe, is used to deliver these impacts, the ore will shatter apart and release its precious contents in the most native form – redstone dust. Veritable treatises have been written on this particular form of redstone and how it may be used to construct rudimentary circuitry, so this particular property will not be further elaborated upon in this writing.

On a basic level, Redstone Flux is the name for the stored energy which manifests as a standing resonant wave in a mass of redstone. The resonant properties of this wave means that this energy can be stored indefinitely, if contained properly. This is a logical extension of redstone dust’s ability to maintain a signal indefinitely at a given point. The amount of energy that can be stored or transmitted through a given mass of redstone is determined by various factors, such as the cross-sectional area and the saturation coefficient of the mass.

To understand Redstone Flux and how it can be exploited for jolly industrialization, one must first understand two additional properties of redstone – its response to heat and particular interactions with various metals.

Redstone dust at standard temperatures and pressures exists in a stable crystalline state. Leading researchers theorize that the ore’s formation deep underground contributes to this stable structure, possibly through interaction with alluvial deposits of cinnabar – a native form of mercury. Further research is required on this mercury-redstone interaction, with one researcher commenting that redstone’s complex structure makes this problem “somewhat like rocket science.”

Exposure to low to moderate levels of heat has no apparent effect on redstone, without a proper catalyst in place. However, extreme levels of heat in proper conditions where no air is present disrupts the crystalline structure of the redstone dust. Upon losing structure, redstone becomes a fluid known as destabilized redstone and will remain fluid at room temperature. As the extreme pressures required for initial crystal formation are not present, this fluid form of redstone will persist even in sub-zero temperatures. Given the right temperature and pressure conditions, destabilized redstone could potentially be precipitated back into a crystalline form.

Further compounding the enigmatic nature of redstone are the interactions that both solid and fluid forms of redstone have with various metals. It is through the understanding and exploitation of these interactions that Redstone Flux may be created, stored, and utilized to empower our creations and allow us to break from the shackles of manual labor. At the time of this writing, five metals exist which seem to have synergistic or catalytic properties with redstone. They are as follows:

Copper: This reasonably common metal, when mixed in the proper quantities with silver and combined with destabilized redstone, can form signalum – an alloy capable of transmitting signals a long distance as well as having rudimentary sensitivity to magnetism. This alloy can be used as a “bridge” between Redstone Flux and electricity, as the conductive nature of the silver and copper allows for the flow of electrons.
Silver: This precious metal, when combined with redstone dust, is able to convert heat or electricity into Redstone Flux. Engineering advances have shown that a coil-type geometry can be used to optimize the production and transmission of this Redstone Flux. Essentially, silver is most used in the generation of Redstone Flux. The engineering mnemonic for this is derived from the chemical abbreviation of silver – Ag – or “A Generator.”
Gold: This precious metal, when combined with redstone dust, is able to convert Redstone Flux into heat or magnetism. Engineering advances have shown that a coil-type geometry can be used to optimize the reception and storage of Redstone Flux. Essentially, gold is most used in the reception of Redstone Flux. The engineering mnemonic for this is derived from the chemical abbreviation of gold – Au – or “A User.”
Lead: This metal can be used in the construction of rudimentary Redstone Flux devices. The density of the lead acts to assist in containment of Redstone Flux, when otherwise the resonant waveform could escape or diminish with time.
Electrum: This metal is simply an alloy of silver and gold, and can be utilized for the purposes of either.
Notes: Common to all of these metals is an extremely high resistance to corrosion. Redstone Flux is volatile in nature, and high levels of it can have unforeseen consequences if exposed to open air or organic substances. It should be emphasized that this list is by no means complete, and further research into this wondrous phenomenon may yet reveal new interactions. Especially promising are the theoretical interactions when Redstone Flux is combined with the fundamental fabric of spacetime – ender.

TreeCapitator

Description

TreeCapitator Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2 adds one simple element to the game: axes cut down all wood touching the wood block you cut down. So, the next time you see one of those twenty block high monstrosities, you won’t think of how much work it’ll be, you’ll think of how much wood you’ll get. You can also mess around with the config file to change things like what’s considered a tree, how many leaves the trees need to be considered a tree, what an ax is, and whether or not you need an ax. So, with mods that add axes into minecraft like IndustrialCraft 2, or mods that add in trees like Forestry, you can make sure that you’ll be able to use all of your ax items, and cut down all of your trees.

This mod is a great addition to Minecraft to significantly speed up the removal of trees in the game.

It works simply by using an axe to destroy the bottom block of any tree. As soon as you do the entire tree explodes into all its individual blocks. What’s great is that it also destroys the remaining leaf blocks and gives you all the saplings that would have dropped. Probably the most useful of this mod would be taking down Jungle trees. They are already so massive that destroying them just takes so much time. Well now with this mod you can take a whole one down in seconds.

It’s actually not much of a “cheating” mod as it’s more of a time-saving mod. You will still take the same damage to your tools as you would normally and the time to chop will depend on what level axe you have. And likewise you will probably lose your shears in one tree if you use it on a jungle tree. Depending on the size of the tree will also determine how long it takes to remove that block of wood. Some will take longer than others. You can adjust a lot of these settings in the mod config menu from the main menu of the game.

Features

  • Sneak while chopping to break logs normally (configurable).
  • Configurable list of tool IDs to determine what an “axe” is.
  • Optional item damage based on number of logs broken (defaults to enabled).
  • Optional increasing item damage per block broken (off by default).
  • Smart tree-detection (configurable).
  • Option to destroy leaves (enabled by default).
  • Option to shear leaves (with a shear-type item in hotbar).
  • Option to shear vines (with a shear-type item in hotbar).
  • Disable drops in creative.
  • Disable tool requirement.

Energy Converters

Description

Energy Converters Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2 is a simple mod which provides a few blocks which can convert energy from AND to EU or RF. This mod is based on Power Converters Mod.

You probably know the feeling when you start your base, completly decked out in RF based machines like sag mills or arc furnaces… and then you need that one industrial craft machine to craft your jetpack. This mod helps you generate the needed energy by converting from one energy type (i.e. Redstone Flux) to another (IndustrialCrafts EU). You can even convert from EU to EU… if you want to do that for some reason.

Energy Converters provide you 3 different Block Types: Energy Consumers, Energy Producers and the Energy Bridge. The Energy Consumer will consume energy from an energy source and store it inside an adjacent Energy Bridge. An Energy Producer will convert that energy to another type – just connect a cable or any machine to the producer and you are good to go.

A single energy bridge supports up to 6 consumers and/or producers (1 per side) – but any consumer/producer may only connect to one bridge at a time. The conversion rate is currently 1 Eu : 4 RF : 4 Tesla.

Ancient Warfare 2

Description

There’s just something fun about the bloody, visceral combat the world’s warriors used to engage in hundreds (or thousands) of years ago. These days single soldier don’t really determine the outcome of battles anymore – heck, the battles themselves have changed too. If you just love the ways people fought back in ancient history, you’ll probably really like the Ancient Warfare 2 mod, which adds a number of weapons from throughout time to the world of Minecraft. The best thing about this mod is that every element is handled by an individual module, which means players can use only the parts they want.

Anyone downloading the Ancient Warfare 2 mod will want to start with the Core module, which is required for all the other modules to work. The Structure module allows the user to input new templates which are then utilized during world construction – this makes it possible to make NPC villages more useful, or cause random dungeons to spawn in the wilderness. Then you have the NPC module for non-player characters, the Automation module to automate tasks like farming, the Vehicle module to add new rides to Minecraft and more. Some of the modules are more complete than others.

The Ancient Warfare 2 mod includes weaponry like the catapult, used to sling heavy loads over long distances, as well as the trebuchet, which is a similar type of construct. There are different types of ammunition for these launchers too, like a stone shot and scattershot, which is a load made up of super-powered arrows that do far more damage than normal. Some of these weapons are able to destroy buildings and put holes in walls, which opens up opportunities for establishing some sort of medieval war server. That’s the kind of gameplay the mod’s author had in mind when putting it together.

Ender Storage

Description

Ender Storage Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2 adds multiple Ender Chests with separate inventories. It also adds the Ender Pouch, an item that allows access to the contents of a corresponding Ender Chest from anywhere. This mod overrides the vanilla Ender Chest.

The storage of multiple sets of items in the End is facilitated by identifying different Ender Chests with a 3-color code on the lid of each chest. A player may use dyes to change the color code of a chest or bag such that a network of chests and bags can be created for storing items. Development of this mod was initiated before the Ender Chest was added to vanilla Minecraft. In latest releases changing the color codes is made by Ctrl+clicking with dye in hand on specific wool buttons.

EnderStorage is ideal for transporting items over long distances. BuildCraft Pipes and RedPower Pneumatic Tubes may be used to move items in and out of EnderChests, following the same behavior of other chests.

Features

Ender Chest

  • The Ender Chest is a storage block from EnderStorage which predates the Minecraft Ender Chest. Each chest has three wool pads on top that can be manipulated by right-clicking them with a dye. All Ender Chests with the same 3-color code will access a shared inventory, no matter what dimension they are placed in. For example, a red-orange-yellow Ender Chest shares its inventory with all other red-orange-yellow Ender Chests, but cannot be accessed at a red-yellow-orange Ender Chest. With the 16 different colored dyes of Minecraft, there are 4,096 possible 3-color codes.
  • An Ender Pouch can be used to access the inventory of an Ender Chest from the player’s hotbar wherever they are.
  • If you change the color code of an Ender Chest while items are inside, you will not be able to access those items anymore, unless you have another Ender Chest of the same color code, or change the color code back to what it was. Items in an Ender Chest will never be destroyed (except in the case of a save file being corrupted). When an Ender Chest is broken, the contents remain in storage and can be accessed again from an Ender Chest of the same color code; the + Ender Chest itself retains its color code and will not stack with Ender Chests of a different color code.
  • If the player right-clicks the latch of an Ender Chest with a diamond, it will no longer connect to Ender Chests of the same color code, except those which that same player has also diamond-locked. Doing so will consume the diamond and change the latch to a diamond color. This does not prevent other players from accessing the contents of the Ender Chest, but rather acts as if it’s a new color code, specific to that player. For example, if a player “Soaryn” diamond-locks a red-red-red Ender Chest, that chest will now only connect to other red-red-red Ender Chests that Soaryn has diamond-locked, however another player “direwolf20” will still be able to open the chest and take out items. This makes the true amount of combinations 4096 multiplied by the amount of players that have ever been on the server, plus another 4096 for all public/shared combinations.
  • Depending on your modpack you may or may not be able to unlock an Ender Chest by breaking it. If the chest unlocks the diamond will drop as a separate item. With some modpacks, shift-clicking the latch will also remove the diamond lock and return the diamond as an item.

Ender Pouch

  • The Ender Pouch is a craftable item offering remote access to any Ender Chest via right-clicking while holding the pouch. The Ender Pouch may be initially crafted with the desired color of wool; shift-right clicking on an Ender Chest with an Ender Pouch will synchronize the color code of the pouch to match the color code of the chest, replacing the previous color code of the pouch. When the ender-pouch’s GUI is open, it is still possible to move it within your inventory, including placing the pouch inside itself. Unlike bag-like things from other mods, it is then possible to retrieve it and its contents, by using an ender-chest or another ender-pouch with the same code.
  • As with the Ender Chest, the Ender Pouch allows unrestricted access to the contents of the pouch/chest to any player in an SMP environment with the same colour code on their pouch / chest, unless it has been synchronized with a diamond-locked ender chest. This can make it useful for sharing resources with friends, but also allows other players to take your resources without consent.

Ender Tank

  • The Ender Tank is a block added by the EnderStorage mod. A multi-dimensional liquid storage tank that holds 16,000 mB, which is remotely shared with a matching Ender Tank elsewhere. A tank may receive liquids and the same liquid can be ejected or extracted from another tank on the same network in another location or dimension. The Tank may be rotated using a Wrench.
  • Ender Tanks connect to each other to transfer contents by matching the colour pattern, which can be set by Right-clicking the wool pads on top using a dye. With three pads and 16 dyes, there are 4,096 different tank networks that may be created this way. These networks may be set to private by Right-clicking the dials with a Diamond, the dial changes colour to cyan. A private Ender Tank will not share any liquids with any public tank, or any other Player’s; this is particularly useful on a public server. The Tank may be set to back to public and the Diamond returned, by Shift+Right-clicking the dial unless the colour pattern has been changed.
  • The input and output mode can be set by Right-clicking the dial on the front of the Tank, it will toggle rotation from orange to blue. When blue is up, the tank will accept liquid being pumped into it and when orange is up, it will eject liquid to a fluid transport system; while in this mode, it can still receive directly but at a much slower rate.
  • Ender Tank has no known uses in crafting.

Tinkers' Construct

Description

Tinkers’ Construct Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2 is a great mod for constructing, repairing and even modifying tools and weapons in Minecraft. You can also smelt metals to create more powerful weapons and tools to add to your arsenal. You’ll start off with a handbook. This should be your number 1 tool in figuring out everything you can do with this mod. It’s full of recipes and guides to make this mod easier to understand. There are also 4 other craftable books to help with more advanced features.

Features

  • The mod stems from patterns you create that ultimately craft the different parts to your desired tools and weapons. The tables you’ll need are the crafter, part builder, stencil table, tool station, and tool forge to get the basics going.
  • The Stencil Table allows you to turn blank patterns into essentially part blueprints. You then use these to create the basic pieces that will craft your tool or weapon. It’s very simple but can get a little overwhelming with how many combinations you can make. That’s where your books will come in handy so reference them often.
  • The advanced tools come in when you build a smeltery. This allows you to smelt metal into more powerful parts for your tools. The mod also adds a few new ores to the game that only further advance your tools beyond that of diamond capabilities.
  • So once you’ve got a smeltery and some metals smelted you can make casts from wooden tool parts. Then use those casts with stronger metals to make stronger parts. It’s like turning Minecraft into an RPG with leveling tools and upgrading their abilities and adding new parts to them.
  • And once you really get the hang of the mod you’ll be able to give your tools special modifiers like auto-repairing. So when your tool starts to deteriorate it’ll actually fix itself over time. Basically you can enchant your tools without needing experience first. It works entirely off of the items you have in your inventory. So instead of going into spells and XP to enhance your tools you can opt for hard work and determination with this mod.
  • This mod will rely heavily on referencing the in game guides. They will help you immensely in your new trade skills. Get to the point where you can craft yourself a really powerful hammer and blast through your mines in 3×3 chunks. It’s really effective at quick mining with excellent yield and results. There are tons more to do with this mod so have fun discovering new tools!

Industrial Craft 2

Description

Industrial Craft 2 Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2, often stylized as IC2, is a mod for Minecraft based around industrial processes.

IC2 introduces numerous features across a variety of areas in Minecraft, including resource processing, mining, agriculture and the player’s armory itself. It accomplishes this through the use of a proprietary energy system of Energy Units, or EU, and includes an array of generators and blocks to provide and store this energy and a much larger stable of machinery and tools to use this energy in their own ways. Its prevalence is such that it can be seen in almost every Feed The Beast modpack since it was launched, with only select modpacks based around a specific theme omitting it.

Dimensional Doors

Description

Dimensional Doors Mod 1.12.2 adds several types of “Dimensional” Doors that allow access to teleportation and extra-dimensional pocket dungeons that can vary from hallways to mazes to treasure rooms to straight up traps.

Have fun exploring, but be wary of death or falling into the void as you do not want to end up and perish away in the mysterious and nihilistic Limbo dimension.

Features

  • 4 new dimensions: The Personal Pocket dimension, Public Pocket dimension, Dungeon Pocket Dimension and Limbo.
  • 1 entity: The Monolith, a being mostly consisting of an ever-watching eye that seems to originate from Limbo.
  • Dungeon Pockets: These are small restricted spaces that can be generated by entering a Transient Door in the Overworld or an Iron Dimensional Door from a different Dungeon Pocket. These dungeon pockets can contain anything from hallways with other doors to treasure rooms. At the moment, only a handful of Dungeon Pockets are enabled, but more will soon follow.
  • Personal- and Public pockets: These are like Dungeon Pockets except completely empty and each player can have only one Personal Pocket that only they can enter.
  • Teleportation: All types of “Rifts” allow players to teleport from one location to the other. How they function exactly, depends on the type of Rift.
  • 2 new “normal” doors: Golden and Nether Quartz doors
  • 5 types of “dimensional doors” (Rifts): Iron, Golden and Personal Dimensional Doors and Chaos and Warp Doors.
  • Other Rifts: Rift Scars, Transient Doors and Transdimensional Trapdoors.
  • 5 Full Blocks: Fabric of Reality, Altered Fabric, Ancient Fabric, Unraveled Fabric and Eternal Fabric.
  • Several items that let you manipulate Rifts or are used as crafting components for the Doors themselves: The Rift Blade allows you to enter Rift Scars. The Rift Signature allows you to set up your own custom Rift connections.
  • World generation: Small structures containing Transient Doors are added to the Overworld generation.
  • Commands: To force generate specific Dungeon Pockets and teleport the player to them.
  • High configurability: Maximum Pocket sizes, whether Monoliths are dangerous or not, which Dungeon Pockets have the highest chances to get generated.
