Could seriously do with a few mini-levels separate from the main game that explains some of the gameplay, particularly how to capture things and how to defeat enemies.

Easy, medium, hard? Change the speed/health/spawn-rate of enemies and give bonus points?

The high_scores.dat isn't great to place next to the exe. Either rename as alpha_channel_high_scores.dat or move it into ~/.alpha_channel_spooner

AC was made pre-Fidgit. Maybe it would be worth using it for the GUI?

Shouldn't be too hard; the problem is more that scores for a game will be very similar, since you get points for hurting/destroying pixels and you finish each level by destroying a set number of them. The only way to get more points is to hurt a lot of pixels without killing them or kill red pixels while on a boss level.

Maybe there could be other ways to gain points? Speed of finishing a level, perhaps?

Store user settings, like in other games, somewhere.

Since I added separate development gem requirements, it is necessary to bundle install --without development (which particularly fails now, since I am requiring release_packager as a direct file)
