Hi,

I played around with your app trying to get this working on my Shield (2015) paired with Samsung UE65KS9500 and I managed to update your code to be able to send the correct code to the TV but failed to get a response.

After some investigation it seems Samsung uses some kind of tokens when communicating through web-socket.

To work with newer Samsung TVs, a token authorization would have to be implemented. Here is a working project using tokens for Samsung: https://github.com/xchwarze/samsung-tv-ws-api/blob/master/README.md

Hopefully someone with more skills then me can bring this beautiful project forward for Samsung TVs too :)

I would gladly be test-pilot.

By supporting dynamic configuration, via a local file on the shield, I could actually generate .APKs that could be simply installed without requiring anyone to setup the Android Studio build environment.

Like discussed on Reddit, I've got an Onkyo receiver that I'd love to control via this.

The eISCP control you suggested works fine. My specific model receiver is the TX-NR797.

The sources I use and switch between:

Nintendo Switch on Game. eISCP command that worked was:
receiver.command('source game')

Xbox One on BD/DVD. eISCP:
receiver.command('source bd')

Gaming PC on PC. eISCP:
receiver.command('source pc')

ShieldTV connected to Stream Box. eISCP:
receiver.command('source strm-box')

Telnet closes itself after connection, probably because the new keycode thing.

can we implement this logic into this project?
