When I compile my dependencies for my Elixir project that uses elixir-rss, I get this warning message:

warning: the dependency :rss requires Elixir "~> 1.0.0" but you are running on v1.4.0
Compiling 1 file (.ex)

This would indicate to me that this library needs updating to conform with the latest Elixir version. As you can see, it seems to compile fine, so a fix for this would be as simple as updating mix.exs.

Can you add a function to validate feed as well ?

Is it possible to release a new package on Hex?

There are CDATA changes that are missing. The most recent release is from 2014.

Hello Benny, noticed on http://jobs.elixirdose.com/feed that the feed doesn't escape ampersands in the xml. This might result into xml parse errors when the text contains a character like an ampersand or lower/greater than characters. The cdata sections in xml are formatted like . Best regards, Sander

Since <pubDate> and <guid> for an item are optional in the specification we should make them optional in here as well right?
Same goes for <lastBuildDate> and <language> when creating a channel.

Shouldn't elixir-rss maybe just take a normal Erlang datetime tuple and handle the conversion to the RFC 882 format itself?
