ESPN is fairly unreliable in its reporting of dates. Non-standardized month abbreviations cause a lot of problems, but 9a79819 only temporarily addresses this with manual string replacements. It would be nice to implement a more dynamic solution here.

It might be nice if get_schedule(), when only passed a single team-year pair, would just return a regular data frame.
