obsidian-link-exploder's Issues

Feature Request: Create Notes from headings in Canvas

Hey Ben, you have built something very awesome. I request you to please consider making this plugin be able make a canvas listing all the headings and their content underneath them in notes, all interconnected. For example single Heading#1 at the top and five Heading#2 and their content on the canvas

[Feature Request] - Canvas Groups from folders

Would be awesome if you could add some customisation toggles for a few of the features requested.

I Personally want to be able to use folders as Canvas Groups. That way you can automate some key aspects of the visualisation practices (Which is currently A little limiting without update functionality) however with or without other features this is powerful on its own i think.

backlinks exploder (feature request)

Hello,

Congrats this is a very nice plugin!
I wanted to know if it may be possible instead of using the outgoing links we could choose to embed the backlinks of the note?

Thank you!

Node creation for image/media-links in created canvas

Issue:
When creating a canvas from a given note, links to media files are threated just like links to markdown files - a node will be created for each of them. As e.g. images will be displayed within the file they're embedded in anyways - and are probaply also easier to understand/only useful in context -, i'd prefer this to be an optional feature.

Proposed Solution:
Add a Black-/Whitelist option for filetypes in settings, en-/disabling the creation of nodes for the given filetypes.

Feature Request: Bulk add files narrowed to a common section.

I have many pages that I set up to compare products. Each page uses the same template and has the same headings. All the files are in the same folder. I would love the option to be able to go to an existing canvas and trigger a command that asked me for the folder and the heading and then added all the files in that folder to the canvas with each one narrowed to that heading. That would allow me to easily compare specific sections (features) across all the files (products).

Ideally I could then do the same thing again in the same canvas but this time narrowed to a different heading.

It might also be useful to have the option to put the files into a group, possibly named the same as the chosen heading.

Thanks.

[Feature Request] block reference

In Canvas, by inserting ![[filename#^ab82f0]] in a card, it will display the block.

So, using this plugin, I think it is possible to build the visual relation automatically between blocks and blocks, not only files and files.

[FR] Mobile Support

Do you plan to support the mobile app too?

Use case: A quick and viable alternative for Excalibrain, for which one needs to install Excalidraw and Dataview additionally. It would allow for a fast, stable, on-the-go visual representation of relationships.

[Feature Request] Create In Folder Setting

Hello!

Just wanted to make a small request for a setting that would allow the canvas to be created in the same folder as the note it's being created from instead of the root folder. I'm currently moving it into the proper folder using a script, so not a huge deal, but I figured it might be a helpful setting for others as well.

Thank you for the wonderful plugin!

Clarifying README's description of behaviour?

Hello! You asked for feedback - and I was keen to see what this did before installing it.

This is a very small comment but I hope it may help others have the confidence to try it out...

In the README, the sentence 'converts the current note into a canvas' makes it sounds like it modifies the current note.
Does it really change the current note, or create a new file with info from the note?
If the latter, could you perhaps add a note about what the new file will be called please?

Improvement suggestion - use tags as basis for links between notes on canvas

I'm really enjoying the possibilities that link exploder brings - thank you!
An improvement I would love to see is a canvas based on not only on in- and outgoing links but also common tags. I use the local graph feature in obsidian frequently and would love to see a local-graph canvas, which link exploder could provide.

Again, many thanks for all your work!

Refresh

Hi, I love the plug-in. It is precisely what I've been looking for. Thanks! Great work.

Is there a way to refresh content? So, imagine adding a new link in a note; I'd like this to be reflected in the canvas right away. I don't have that option now, but it would be very helpful.

Thank you for the great work.

Best,

Feature Request: Update canvas functionality

Issue:
You can create a canvas from a given note using a plugin. However, as you continue to link other notes to the initial note throughout the course of working on your Obsidian vault, you may want to update the canvas with new connections. The problem is that you may have already moved notes around, added extra notes that might not be directly linked through backlinks, and so on.

Proposed solution:
It would be helpful to have a way to "update" the current canvas so that it can create new cards that are connected to the main note without creating duplicates or disturbing the cards already present in the canvas. This feature would be a great addition alongside the "Feature request: add link exploder functionality to cards on the canvas." #5

Caveats:
I understand that one of the biggest issues with this feature would be how do you know where to position any new cards generated by the update action. Potentially you could prompt the user with which main direction they would like to add the new cards: top, bottom, left, right. For example

Thanks again for creating this plugin. This has the potential to be an amazing companion plugin for canvas
