Git Draw

Allows you to draw in your GitHub heatmap

This is a Chrome extension which will allow you to freely draw on your GitHub heatmap. You can then export your drawing to a script containing a git commit log. Once you've run and pushed this script to a new repository, your commit log will match the drawing you made.

Why not a bookmarklet?

Because CSP. GitHub's CSP policy makes a bookmarklet next to impossible. There's a workaround involving injecting code into a canvas and then executing it from there, but that feels like something that'll be fixed. A Chrome extension makes it easier. Once you're done making your drawing, just uninstall the extension.

Does it still work?

I tried it the other day but the drawing won't save.

Icons problem

After installing this extension, every icon on github has "cross pointer" cursor instead of normal

Does not work with github redesign

After GitHub's recent redesign, there are no extra options in the commit history section of your profile page.

Has this project been abandoned? It no longer works.

Git has changed their underlying code and Git-Draw no longer shows Download Script or Render buttons.

Cool concept, but no longer seems to work.

Options to render and download do not appear, nor do brush colors. Are there any fixes planned with this?

[Question] How do you define 'a TINY repo'?

This git-draw script worked perfectly when there are only ~10 files in the repo.

but once I tried to run git-draw in a repo containing over 2000 files, it froze - with the dot process consuming high cpu. finally I had to kill the process after 5 min.

so, my question is, what's the recommended maximum number of files in a repo?
