<span style="color: #000"><i>Hi </i></span><span style="color: #000"><i>there</i><b>!</b></span> is better be represented as <span style="color: #000"><i>Hi there</i><b>!</b></span>. It's not critical, but it's a good thing to have.

The ability of editor to easily extend exists thanks to apply-style util. However, it's the most tricky part of the project and it badly needs tests so ensure that everything works as expected.

<b>Hi <b>there</b>!</b> is not a good markup, obviously. And extedit doesn't generate it. However, if added manually (via code editing), it can lead to unexpected behavior.
