My DW1830 died and the prices of this wifi card is just unbelievable. They are selling maybe a $10 card for ~$80! Do you have any other recommendations? I have checked DW1530 and that card is ridiculously expensive as well. I would be really glad if you could help! Thanks!

As some of you might have seen, a new BIOS update is available.
Simple question, can we update without changing anything or does it need some modification in the config.plist ?

I cannot wake up my 9570 from sleep by clicking my mouse or keyboard. The only way to do this is to press the power button. As for the TB3, I have tried everything Icould find on the internet, but still it doesn't work. Neither pci nor thunderbolt3 show a TB3 device. Could you give me some help?

Have you tried ApplePS2SmartTouchpad.kext to make the touchpad work well?

Hey guys! I don't know if you guys have run into this issue, but when i plug my headphones into the headphone jack, i get some audio and then it just cuts off completely and i may get a little bit of distorted noise but nothing i can actually hear. anyone else experiencing this?

When i use the laptop's screen, it's perfect.

But when i use my 24" monitor (neither out with HDMI nor out with type-c dock to dp), there happen something wrong, sometimes it drop frame(such as drag the launchpad page or webpage).

Here are the details,

1)when i open laptop's lid, use it's own screen, works smoothly;

2)when i open laptop's lid, connect the monitor, let the video out with two screen on, works smoothly;

3)when i open laptop's lid, connect the monitor, let the video out with only monitor's screen on, works smoothly;

4)when i close up laptop's lid, connect the monitor, let the video out with monitor's screen on, doesn't works smoothly;

5)And then if i open laptop's lid, connect the monitor, then close laptop's lid, only leave the monitor on, works smoothly just like 1), 2), 3).

My device is 1080p and changed the dpcd-max-link-rate into 0x0a already.

I know this bug doesn't matter anyone to use, but it's strange, and make it not complete in some way.

The audio board is not driven, I don't know why.

This is not an issue at all, I just thank you for your work, by using your efi folder my 9570 is 100% working with Mojave minus the wifi but with an edup wifi dongle everything is working even sound, uhd630 built-in graphics and hdmi port and that's awesome,

Hi, thank you for all your work on this laptop @bavariancake! I have gotten many components to work (8750H, 1080p) and the device is pretty stable, but one issue I've been having is high battery drain during sleep.

Every time I put the laptop to sleep, it stays warm and seems to drop about 5-6% in battery per hour. Usually, the battery just ends up draining if I forget to shut it down at night.

I've tried many things, such as adjusting the sleep settings via pmset and monitoring the log--I am told by the log that my laptop goes into deep idle (not sleep) but that nothing wakes it up until I manually wake it up.

I am using a TP-LINK Wi-Fi dongle.

I was wondering if this was normal for others as well; otherwise, I will dig into the aml files, as I think there may be an issue with how my laptop is calling the PTS and WAK functions. Please let me know if any logs/files/screenshots will help.

Hey Guys, I just got my XPS 15 9570 and will start working on installing the dual boot configuration. I am thinking of only installing MacOS without Windows. Is there anything you can think of that would speak against such an installation ? I was wondering about BIOS updates, and I am not sure if it's possible through MacOS or without Windows. What is your take on that?

The reason why I would go for that is that I dont need the Graphics Card (I am a Musician and do mostly audioprocessing atuff) and would favor stability over Windows and the possibility to play games.

Hi first of all I just want to say thanks for your great work! My xps 15 is running great. The only issue I am having atm is that I am getting a loud buzzing noise coming from headphone jack. It mostly happens after the laptop wakes up from sleep. Sometimes it occurs without going to sleep. Tried changing layout id to 72. That made the sound worse. Any ideas, on how to resolve this issue.

I don't know is it supported but my XPS 15 do not sleep, hibernate. I tried it by closing lid and by sleep button.

Sorry for this dumb question but I try to create an installer USB but I'm following your guide: installation from scratch but it doesn't boot. Can you create a dedicated CLOVER_INSTALL folder for the installation process?

While using on XPS 15 7590, battery full charge capacity is being shown as 7670 mAh.
So even after it shows 0% remaining, it works for another 15-20 mins.
Is there a way to fix this?

i just have 1 issue now. i've connected 2 displayport monitors via dockingstation which is working perfectly. but when i close the lid (to turn off laptop monitor) it crashes with kernel panic. i've attached the panic.
i disabled sleep in terminal like described in the readme. any idea?

Looking at fixes for the post installation process from LuLetterSoul I found that the high kernel_task cpu usage is caused by the touch screen. After deleting the VoodooI2C kext which disables the touchscreen I can confirm that does in fact resolve the issue. However I am new to hackintosh-ing and deleting the VoodooI2C kext also disables the trackpad gestures which are incredibly useful for productivity. Is it possible you could release an additional VoodooI2C, that has the touchscreen disabled but the gestures enabled? It does help a bit with battery life.

Hi All, I decided to update to the lastest version of this build, so I downloaded the repo again and merged the Boot and Clover folder with my EFI drive in MacOS. When I reboot, clover starts but it doesn't see my MacOS drive. The bios see it, but it's not a bootable option. I have read this is do to missing the HfsPlus.efi file yet the file is located in the drivers folder. I kept the older DriversUEFI64 folder, just in case. Could this be causeing an issue? Should I use my old Boot.efi file size is 1.5MB compared to the new build's which is 931kb? I was able to get back up and running using my USB and booting from my MacOS drive, but i'd like to be able to use the new version of clover. Also I registered the same kexts in L/E using Hackintool as I had previously, just updated 4 of them to the new versions, so that doesn't seem to be an issue.

Is there a particular reason BrcmFirmwareData.kext is not being used here? I'm using BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext + BrcmFirmwareData.kext + BrcmPatchRAM3.kext with a DW1830 and BT works perfectly fine without touching /L/E.

I have a 9570 - currently using my own Clover folder/patches but does sleep work for you? I can't seem to get it to work

Hey, does anyone use different memory cards than @bavariancake outlined? 16GBs per Card (SK Hynix HMA82GS6CJR8N-VK) are currently 100€ in Germany, whereas a Crucial 32 Kit (2x16 GB - CT2K16G4SFD8266)for example is only 135€ right now. I am thinking of trying this one out. Have you guys tried different ones as well and how did it go for you?

Hi @bavariancake, in your readme you mention that audio over HDMI does not work since it is dependent on a graphics fix. I have been attempting to get it working (with this EFI and lulettersoul's EFI) to no avail. lulettersoul's EFI has the SSDT-HDEF and SSDT-HDAU files, which appear to be the same ones as from 9560 EFIs.

However, I was also reading the guides for WhateverGreen and AppleALC, and they say that none of these patches are needed--only the layout ID needs to be specified in AppleALC, and then HDMI audio will work.

Despite this, I still am not able to get HDMI audio working. Do you know of where we could look at next steps to tackle this issue? This is the last major caveat with MacOS on the 9570 so getting it resolved would be amazing.

Hello everyone, I am looking for a publication that indicates how to solve the problem for the use of the HDMI port after the hackintosh process for this specific laptop.

These are the advances that I have achieved at the moment:

1. Audio, no sound through internal speakers, although headphone jack are working.
2. Sometimes, Sleep action turn off the screen into a black screen and not wake up, and I have to restart by power button.
3. It do not save the screen brightness level setting, when starting it is always at 75% or 80%.
4. The advanced gestures of the trackpad do not work except the scroll with two fingers.(Fixed except "Smart Zoom" and "Notification Center" gestures).
5. Fingerprint sensor, wifi killer card and card reader not work (I have wifi by TP-Link TL-WN823N usb adapter).
6. I can't find any option to change the behavior of function keys, to use default F keys without Fn key.
7. Touchscreen does not work, I have not found anyone commenting on how to put this feature to work. (Fixed, but I can not perform actions other than: select an icon, click or select a icons group)
8. HDMI port for audio and video output.
9. USB-C (Thunderbolt port) not working, for HDMI output.

Hello everyone, I am looking for a solution for DW1830 BT unavailable from sleep in battery.
ISSUE description:

• DW1830 BT is detected as BCM2045A0 when come out from sleep while in battery --> BT doesn't work properly: BT status turns into unavailable after a while.
• DW1830 BT is detected as BCM920703 when come out from sleep while on AC --> BT works with zero issue

I noticed high CPU usage constantly on my 9570 (1080, 20 GB RAM) with i7 8750H processor. According to Intel Power Gadget, the frequency would be around 3.7 GHz constantly (battery and power).

I read Kevinshroff's reply on another 9570 EFI issues page (shenlinsl/DELL-XPS-15-9570-8950-4K-macOS-Mojave#4) that changing the layout ID for this particular CPU (8750H) from 30 to 72 helps reduce the CPU usage, and in my case, it did!

I have installed the Hackintosh and make graphics acceleration work, but I find two problems.

• The brightness will become brighter only 3 minutes after booting just as discussed on tmx.
• But even after that, the max brightness seems too low, about 30% or lower of that in Windows, which makes it difficult to use.

Do you have the same problem? How do you solve it? I have tried your SSDT-PNLFCFL.aml, but it seems it doesn't work.

Is the USB-C port supposed to work ?

Airdrop doesn't work on the DW1830 card I have with the default config.plist. All the required kext's were installed in the /Library/Extensions folder and the bluetooth preferences were 'wiped'. The only way I could get it to work was by adding the following to the KextsToPatch (array) part in the config.plist

Hi All, I tried connecting a couple different BT headphones to the Hack and it tells me it can't connect because of the PIN. PIN is set to 0000 and it will find the device, not connect and then won't find any other devices, i've turned on/off debugged, reset etc. I noticed when looking at the guide that I don't have OS-X-BcrmPatchRam in my kexts and neither BrcmPatchRAM2.kext or BrcmFirmwareRepo.kext are installed in the L/E directory, but are in Clover/Kexts/Other Airdrop doesn't work either, but WiFi is fine. I downloaded OS-X-BcrmPatchRam but it doesn't look like a kext, do I have to compile it? I apologize for being a n00b. I've never compiled a kext before. Anyways, Big Thanks to @bavariancake for this great build and the community. $

I'm using your EFI and instructions verbatim on a dual-boot XPS 15 9570 with the following specs:

• i5-8300H 8th gen Coffee Lake
• UHD 630
• FHD (1920x1080) display
• 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4, 2666MHz, Samsung SO-DIMM
• 500GB NVME Samsung 970EVO (Catalina)
• 500GB Samsung 860 EVO SSD (Windows 10 Pro)
• DW1830 WiFi BT with latest Dell drivers installed in Win 10 Pro.
• Realtek Audio ALC3266-CG (similar to ALC298)

Everything seems to be working great except for WiFi / BT issues I'm hoping you'll be able to make sense of.

In Catalina, System Information shows 802.11n connecting to 5GHz network and 802.11ac connecting to 2.4GHz network. In Windows 10, it's correct, 802.11n connects to 2.4GHz network and 802.11ac connects to 5GHz network.

In Windows 10, the BT works perfect. In Catalina, the BT struggles to detect any BT devices and won't stay connected to BT devices it does detect (rapidly connects then disconnects repeatedly).

Any ideas?

The things works as expected. Everything is working except the HDMI Audio. I tried FakePCIID along with IntelHDMIAudio.kext but no luck.

I am having trouble getting the touchscreen to work. Could you please explain this to me a little bit more.

Anyone else getting lot of clicks from the trackpad when typing? When in Windows or Linux I can type most of the day with little to no clicks, but in OSX it happens all the time.

I’m using the 8300h without 1050 version, in windows i use a Nvidia 2060 through the thunderbolt3 as an eGPU, as you say that thunderbolt3 devices can be used in macOS while connected in windows once, can i bought a rx590 to use in macOS to connect the monitor through the thunderbolt3 as an eGPU? Will it work? Or anybody here knows? Thanks a lot.

Hi, first of all, thank you for your awesome work.
Just wanted to let you know that I did some research and I figured out that the WiFi antenna connector might not be U.FL but Ipex MHF4.
Indeed, U.FL are 2mm (and white) while MHF4 are 1.5mm (and black). Not a big deal but it was a little confusing to me. Thanks again.

I have some troubles updating to 10.14.4.

Im following your instructions, but when I try to boot to install partition after first reboot, after 15-20 mins, my xps reboots. Let me explain all the steps I do:

1. I boot in my 10.14.2 system with my actual EFI folder (I upload it, its EFI1.zip).
2. I enter in system preferences and click in "download and install 10.14.4".
3. I reboot my system and progress bar appears 1-2 minutes and then reboot.
4. I boot to install partition with EFI2 (different EFI installed in my usb). This is the EFI folder configured with the new hd630 framebuffer patches you said in your guide. Here is where I have the problems. After waiting 15 or 20 minutes, my system reboots, and I cant boot successfuly. I upload too EFI2.zip.

I've tried to boot with xitgun EFI folder and it boots, but I really dont like it, because he uses lot of kexts and configs without optimization, and when I boot to 10.14.4 its sooooo slow with his EFI, so, discarted.

Im trying to boot only with kext in Clover/Kext/other , I uninstalled 10.14.2 kexts from /Library/Extensions and rebuilded cache, but without success.

What is wrong?

I am trying to hibernate my Hackintosh so that I can boot to windows and back easily.
I tried the following command:
sudo pmset -b hibernatemode 25 (-b is just for battery, I had my charger plugged out while testing this)
After that, if I click on sleep, it does shut down but when I try to turn it on, it fails the first time and restarts again, then it boots without using the sleepImage.
I can see a 1GB sleepImage is created in /private/var/vm/sleepimage
Is there a way to fix this?

Hello, I am not able to get the brightness keys working. I am able to adjust the brightness over the display settings.
I replaced SSDT-BRT6.aml with yours, installed VoodooPS2Controller.kext and added the find/replace values to config.plist as described (I also tried to copy paste this section of the config.plist from yours but this hadn't worked also). Do I need to do something more/else?
This is my first Hackintosh ... maybe I made a dump mistake :)?!

My laptop is XPS 9579 I5 8300H could i use this?

I have Dell D6000 Dock station, Dell P2414H, HKC T4000.
Dell P2414H connect to D6000 with DisplayPort, HKC T4000 connect to D6000 with HDMI.
And D6000 connect to XPS 9570 with Type-C port.
When attached D6000 prior to boot, all monitor work fine.

Unplug and plug D6000, only HDMI monitor and build in monitor work.

But when I look it up in System Information, Dell P2414H never show up.
When D6000 connect to XPS 9570 with Type-A port, using DisplayLink, all monitor work fine.

First of all, thank you for your hard work....
and then my problem is no fans detect in application macs fan control ,so the fans are loud sometimes, just like the sea wave. so I want control it when it up to the point temperature, it will spin some rpm. It also can't detect in the other system manager software such as istats, lemon cleaner, they all shows N/A in fans module. the picture below will show the detail what I said, sorry for my poor English.

The new VoodooPS2 driver bases itself upon Rehabman's version and offers more native gesture expericence by emulating Magic Trackpad. I guess you may want to have a try.

Im using virtualsmc instead of fakesmc, and the rest is OK.

The problem is that I cant boot without verbose mode. Ive tried everything:
-delete I2C and restore original voodoops2controller of your guide
-restore fakesmc and acpibattery instead of virtualsmc+smcbattery
-tried booting with no caches, but not success if I try to boot without verbose, and so

Ive bought this USB-C hub https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07BBNSYCV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

HDMI works great, USB3.0 and card reader too. But ethernet port only gives me 40% of internet speed. I've tried this hub in my original macbook pro, and I get 100% of speed (100mbs) instead of 40mbs.

Could be related with HS and SS port? I mean, USB-C works as HS and not SS, maybe it fails because of that or because of the USB power issue.

I've created a Catalina USB installer using the createinstallMedia method described here and have successfully booted into it, repartitioned my internal SSD drive using a single partition (macOS - Mac OS Extended Journaled format) and proceeded to the install process. The installer restarted, reported to take 25 minutes (but it completed that phase a lot faster) and then once rebooted, I've chosen the Boot macOS install from Install macOS Catalina option through my USB drive's Clover boot screen.

Instead of continuing with the install process, I end up on the macOS Recovery screen with the usual "Reinstall macOS", "Disk Utility" and the rest of the options. So I appreciate that at this point there's no boot loader on my installer target volume, but based on Disk Utility, the installer has already converted my HFS+ volume to APFS and created2 volumes: "macOS" and "macOS - Data" within an APFS container. I seem to fail to continue with the installer at this point. I don't recall this issue when I've installed Mojave, only just now.

How do I debug this?

I'm using Clover v5097 and your EFI directory with a small change to config.plist (that has to do with serial numbers to avoid conflicts).

i've a strange problem. the cpu frequency drops down to 800mhz and stays there for a long time. could not find out why this is, but the laptop is "unusable" for work.
any idea why this happens?

I came from xiaomi notebook pro, and there we we're using cpufriend kext pack to get 800mhz low freq and keep some battery.

Is this possible with i7 8750h? I've searchned in tonymac and other sites and didn't found nothing.
