The API should be a rich, awesome and extensive system that just fits in with the server. It needs to have at least the following:

• Full support for events
• Support for client-side plugins
• Smart/efficient design

The entity/NBT loading needs to be rewritten. We should load things from pymclevel, and then remove them. The downside is that we need to make sure we dump all the entities on a fatal crash, the upside being we have a much cleaner way of interacting with entities and we can be sure they will ALWAYS be removed correctly. Should have some speed implications too.

A big step before we go to much further is adding authentication/RSA encryption in. It would be nice to have it very minimal and underlying to the main system.

Somewhere down the road, I'd like to have better support for signs.

• Copying signs (Shift+Left click with another sign?)
• Keeping signs (Silk Touch?)
• Allow sign-editing in inventory (Shift+Left click?)
• Editing signs (Shift+Left click a stationary sign?)

We can store the sign data as meta-data, or possibly find our own system.
