androidtechnica's Issues

Implement "Find on Page" functionality

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
N/A

Describe the solution you'd like
I'd like to be able to search for specific text on a page.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I don't believe there are any alternatives to this.

Additional context
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/webkit/WebView#findAllAsync(java.lang.String), https://developer.android.com/training/appbar/action-views#java, and https://developer.android.com/reference/android/support/v7/widget/SearchView should be helpful.

Issue with notifications and the home page

Please complete the following information:

  • Device: Google Pixel 1
  • OS: Android 9 Pie
  • App Version: 1.3.2

Describe the bug
After clicking on a notification and reading the article, I tend to go back to the home page, then leave the app. However, after doing so, and not using the app for a while, when I go back to browse articles, the app will reload to the page the notification loaded, not the home page.

Expected behavior
I expect the app to reload the home page.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Click on a notification and load the page
  2. Go back to the home page
  3. Press the home button
  4. Wait until the app would have been closed by the system
  5. Open the app
  6. See the app re-load the page that the notification loaded

Duplicate Notifications

Please complete the following information:

  • Device: Google Pixel 1
  • OS: Android 9 Pie
  • App Version: 1.3.2

Describe the bug
If Ars Technica decides to post the same article to two separate RSS feeds, it results in duplicate notifications.

Expected behavior
I would prefer this to only result in one notification

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. See two notifications from different notification channels

Additional context
I may be able to solve this if I put the products of each RSS feed into an array or database and eliminate ones that are duplicates from there.

Download, copy, or share images in the app

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Describe the solution you'd like
