This seems to be a bug and leads to this exception:

Unhandled Exception: type 'Null' is not a subtype of type 'Cred' in type cast
#0      new Future.value (dart:async/future.dart:348:59)
#1      FlutterWindowsVault.get (package:flutter_windows_vault/flutter_windows_vault.dart:146:14)

Probably the solution is to return Future<Cred?>.value(null) instead of Future<Cred>.value(null)

I created two apps. I stored the password using first app and tried to read it from second app. It worked. Then, how secure it is?

When trying to get a value which was not before set a platform exception occurs.

Example code:

Future<void> main() async {
  await FlutterWindowsVault.get(key: "key");
}

A possible solution could be the ability to test if a keys exist, similar to flutter_secure_storage´s

final storage = new FlutterSecureStorage();
await  storage.containsKey(key: "key");
